[Z] [PREACHING LESSON 6:] DOING YOUR COMMIMENT IS DOING IT ONLY TO GOD

DOING YOUR COMMIMENT IS DOING IT ONLY TO GOD.

* INTRODUCTION:

* This is an encouragement to all Christians to be sincere in their commitment to God. This commitment of ours if we able fulfill if and accomplish our goal. God will receive the glory and praise. Because we able to fulfill our commitment by faith and with sincerity and our Church can accomplish more in the work of the Lord.

Commitment means the act of committing oneself; pledging, engaging, or promising oneself to the other.

Commitment is a conscious choice to do something. Not just when I feel like doing it, I do it regularly, as a matter of principle.

We live in a time where commitment is not important anymore. Divorce rates are alarmingly increasing by the day. No one wants to be committed to one partner for the entire life. Adults feel that there are hardly any close friends compared to the adults a decade ago. People switch jobs very often. People are not committed to their church. I believe we are living in days where commitment is lacking.

( Mark 2:1-5 ) [1]And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.

[2]And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.

[3]And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

[4]And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

[5]When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

* INTRODUCTION:

a. This is the good example of commitment of the Christian that they want to bring palsy man to Christ and be healed and be saved as well.

1. TRUE COMMITMENT IS MORE THAN INVOLVEMENT IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD.

( Mark 2: 3-4 ) Mk 2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.

Mk 2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken [it] up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

* Their involvement is accompanied with sacrifice just to fulfill the goal of the local Church to the Church.

2. TRUE COMMIMENT WILLINGNESS TO FACE SACRIFICE JUST TO REACH THE GOAL OF THE CHURCH.

 ( II Corinthians 8:1-5 ) [1]Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

[2]How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

[3]For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

[4]Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

[5]And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

* They are ready and very willing to give what they have to give to the work of the Lord.

( II Corinthians 8:11-12 ) [11]Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

[12]For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

3. TRUE COMMIMENT IS GIVING VALUE ON EVERY SOUL OF LOST SINNERS.

( Mark 8:36 ) For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

* Jesus Christ is our prime example for loving precious souls.

( Matthew 9:35-36 ) [35]And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

[36]But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

4. TRUE COMMIMENT IS MEASURED IN PERFECT UNITY OF THE CHURCH TO ASSURE THE VICTORY TO REACH THE GOAL OF THE CHURCH.

( Psalms 133:1-3 ) [1]Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

[2]It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

[3]As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

5. TRUE COMMIMENT IS REST ASSURED BY THE STRONG FAITH OF GOD'S PEOPLE.

( Mark 2:5 ) When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

* Old Testament Christians are our good model for having strong faith to God.

( Hebrews 11:32- 34 ) [32]And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

[33]Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

[34]Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
