[Z] [PREACHING LESSON 13:] CHALLENGE TO ALL CHRISTIANS TO INVEST IN HEAVENLY THINGS TO THE WORK OF GOD

CHALLENGE TO ALL CHRISTIANS TO INVEST IN HEAVENLY THINGS TO THE WORK OF GOD

( Colossians 3:1-2 ) [1]If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

[2]Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

*INTRODUCTION:

* Paul challenged the Colossians Church to invest in heavenly things to assure we can accomplish great things in the work of the Lord.

2. Paul did not mention of how much we will invest.  Because it is not only money we can invest in the work of the Lord. But our Talent, and Time and also our Treasures we received from the Lord.

* What are those heavenly things we can invest.

1.Precious souls we win to Christ

2.Our faithfulness to support the work of the with our financial blessings

3.Our given talents that we use to serve the Lord

4. Our good and Christ like testimony to others.

1. GOD IS PLEASE WHEN CHRISTIANS INVEST IN HEAVENLY THINGS.

* God commanded us to invest in heavenly things. Always remember God is always happy and please for all the Christians who are very supportive to help the work the Lord financially.

(Colossians 3:1-2) [1]If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

[2]Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

2. GOD WILL PROTECT THE THOSE THINGS WE IN INVEST IN HEAVEN.

(Matthew 6:19-21) [19]Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

[20]But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

[21]For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

3. GOD WILL MULTIPLY THE THINGS WE INVEST IN HEAVEN.

(II Corinthians 9:6-11) [6]But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

[7]Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

[8]And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

[9](As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

[10]Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

[11]Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

4. GOD WILL HELP AND SUPPORT YOU IN YOUR LIFE BECAUSE YOU SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD.

(II Corinthians 9:8-11) [8]And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

[9](As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

[10]Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

[11]Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

5. GOD WILL TOUCH OTHERS ALSO FROM THE CHURCH TO YOUR GOOD EXAMPLE OF INVESTING IN HEAVENLY THINGS.

( Philippians 4:15-20 ) [15]Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

[16]For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

[17]Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

[18]But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

[19]But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

[20]Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

* God bless you all always *
