[Y] [PREACHING LESSON 3:] MULTIPLE GOOD REASONS TO THANK GOD IN ALL THINGS IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE.

MULTIPLE GOOD REASONS TO THANK GOD IN ALL THINGS IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE.

( I Thessalonians 5:18 ) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

* INTRODUCTION:

We live in a world where gratitude is often not expressed and help given is easily forgotten. Undercutting and backstabbing seem to be the order of the day! That brings me to the main thought in my sermon.

* I challenge you Christians Develop a heart of thankfulness.

1) Be thankful for God’s goodness to you

2) Be thankful for others’ goodness to you

3) Be thankful for our family’s goodness to us.

* TEN GREAT THINGS TO THANK THE LORD IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE.

1. THANKING THE LORD DAILY OF OUR SALVATION EXPERIENCE IN OUR LIFE.

( II Timothy 1:9 ) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

* Paul 's testimony of his salvation experience in Christ Jesus. He was very thankful that the Lord saved him and obtained God's mercy and be saved.

(1 Timothy 1:12-16) [12]And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

[13]Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

[14]And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

[15]This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

[16]Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

2. THANKING THE LORD FOR ANSWERING MY PRAYERS.

(Psalms 116:1-2) [1]I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

[2]Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3. THANKING THE LORD FOR FORGIVING MY SINS DONE EVERYDAY.

( I John 1: 9 ) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

(Psalms 32:1-5) [1] Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

[2]Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

[3]When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

[4]For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

[5]I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

4. THANKING THE LORD FOR HIS PROVISION IN MY DAILY NEEDS.

( Philippians 4:15-19 ) [15]Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

[16]For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

[17]Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

[18]But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

[19]But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

5. THANKING THE LORD FOR HIS PERFECT PROTECTION FROM ALL ATTACK OF OUR SPIRITUAL ENEMY.

(Psalms 91:1-7) [1]He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

[2]I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

[3]Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

[4]He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

[5]Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

[6]Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

[7]A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

6. THANKING THE LORD FOR HIS DAILY GUIDING ME AND GIVING WISDOM TO ALL MY DECISION IN LIFE.

( John 16:13 ) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

7. THANKING THE LORD FOR COUNTED US FAITHFUL TO SERVE HIM.

( I Timothy 1:12 ) And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

(1 Thessalonians 1:1-3) [1] Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesuss Christ.

[2] We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

[3] Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

8. THANKING THE LORD FOR COMFORTING US AND STRENGHTEN US WHEN WE FACE TRIALS AND TRIBULATION IN CHRISTIAN LIFE.

( II Corinthians 1:4-10 ) [4]Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

[5]For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

[6]And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

[7]And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

[8]For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

[9]But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

[10]Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

9. THANKING THE LORD FOR GIVING US THE OPPORTUNITY TO WITNESS LOST PEOPLE IN SOULWINNING DRIVE OF THE CHURCH.

(Acts 8:35-37) [35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

[36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

[37]And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

10. THANKING THE LORD FOR GIVING US ALWAYS HOPE OF HIS SOON COMING.

( I Thessalonians 4:13-18 ) [13]But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

[14]For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

[15]For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

[16]For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[17]Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[18]Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

* CONCLUSION:

* ( Thessalonians 5:18 ) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

* God bless you all always *
