MANY WAYS
THE CHRISTIANS CAN GLORIFY GOD IN THEIR LIFE.
1 Corinthians
6:19-20 [19]What?
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you,
which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
[20]For ye are bought with a
price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
* INTRODUCTION:
* Paul encourages the Christians to glorify God in their lives because
we are bought with the price and we not own ourselves anymore.
1. IN FULFILLING THE WILL OF GOD IN OUR LIVES WE CAN
GLORIFY GOD.
( 2 Thessalonians
1:11-12 ) [11]Wherefore
also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this
calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of
faith with power:
[12]That the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of
our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
a. Now that we saved and we are bought with now God have all the
authority to plan and program our life.
( II Timothy 1:9 ) Who hath saved us, and called us
with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own
purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
2. WE CAN GLORIFY GOD IN FAITHFULNESS WORSHIPING HIM IN
HIS TEMPLE WE CANGLORIFYGODINOURLIVE.
( Acts 2:46-47 ) [46]And they, continuing daily
with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat
their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
[47]Praising God, and having
favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as
should be saved.
a. King David is our good model for faithfulness in worshipping God.
( Psalms 122: 1 ) I was glad when they said unto me,
Let us go into the house of the LORD.
3. IN FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST WE CAN GLORIFY GOD IN OUR LIVES.
( Matthew 28:19-20 )
[19]Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[20]Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto
the end of the world. Amen.
a. The Angels in heaven are rejoicing before God the Father for precious
souls being saved.
( Luke 15: 3-7 ) [3]And he spake this parable unto
them, saying,
[4]What man of you, having an
hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in
the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
[5]And when he hath found it, he
layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
[6]And when he cometh home, he
calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me;
for I have found my sheep which was lost.
[7]I say unto you, that likewise
joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety
and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
4. IN OUR THANKSGIVING TO GOD WE CAN GLORIFY GOD.
( I Thessalonians
5:18 ) In every
thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
a. The unbelievers do not express to thank God in their lives.
( Romans 1:21 ) Because that, when they knew God,
they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
5. IN OUR DAILY PRAYERS TO GOD, WE CAN GLORIFY HIM IN OUR
LIVES.
( John 14: 13 ) [13]And whatsoever ye shall ask in
my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
[14]If ye shall ask any thing in
my name, I will do it.
* Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto
the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time
of need.
6. IN SACRIFICE IN GIVING TO GOD WE CAN GLORIFY GOD IN
OUR LIVES.
( 2 Corinthians
9:11-13 ) [11]Being
enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us
thanksgiving to God.
[12]For the administration of this
service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many
thanksgivings unto God;
[13]Whiles by the experiment of
this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the
gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all
men;
* Macedonian Church is our model for sacrificial giving to God.
( II Corinthians
8:1-8 ) [1]Moreover,
brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of
Macedonia;
[2]How that in a great trial of
affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the
riches of their liberality.
[3]For to their power, I bear
record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
[4]Praying us with much intreaty
that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the
ministering to the saints.
[5]And this they did, not as we
hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of
God.
7. IN TOTAL UNITY IN THE WORK OF THE LORD WE CAN GLORIFY
GOD IN OUR LIVES.
( Romans 15:6 ) That ye may with one mind and one
mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
a. God is blessed and glorified by the unity of the Church.
( Psalms 133:1-3 ) [1](A Song of degrees of David.)
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in
unity!
[2]It is like the precious
ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that
went down to the skirts of his garments;
[3]As the dew of Hermon, and as
the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded
the blessing, even life for evermore.
8. IN FACING REPROACH IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WE CAN GLORIFY
GOD IN OUR LIVES.
( IPeter 4:14 ) [14]If ye be reproached for the
name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon
you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
a. Jerusalem Church is our good model for facing reproach from the
unbelievers.
( Acts 5: 26-29 ) [26]Then went the captain with the
officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest
they should have been stoned.
[27]And when they had brought
them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
[28]Saying, Did not we straitly
command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled
Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
[29]Then Peter and the other
apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
( I Peter 4:16 ) Yet if any man suffer as a
Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
* God bless you all always *
