THE LIFE WORTH LIVING OF GOD'S PEOPLE
THAT PLEASES THE LORD.
(Colossians 1:10-13)
[10]That
ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every
good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
[11]Strengthened with all might,
according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with
joyfulness;
[12]Giving thanks unto the Father,
which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in
light:
[13]Who hath delivered us from the
power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1.
THE LIFE FOLLOWING THE STEP OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS A LIFE WORTH LIVING.
(1 Peter 2:21 ) For even hereunto were ye called:
because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should
follow his steps:
a. Paul was
committed to follow the steps of the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I
also am of Christ.
2.
THE LIFE CONCERN FOR REACHING AND RESCUING THE LOST IN SURE JUDGMENT IN HELL.
( Jude 1:23 ) And others save with fear, pulling
them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
a. God do not
want that any should perish in hell.
( 2 Peter 3:9 ) The Lord is not slack concerning
his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
3.
THE LIFE FAITHFULLY WORSHIP GOD IN HIS TEMPLE.
( Acts 2: 46-47 ) [46]And they, continuing daily
with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat
their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
[47]Praising God, and having
favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as
should be saved.
a. King David is
our good model in faithfulness in worshipping God.
( Psalms 122:1 ) I was glad when they said unto me,
Let us go into the house of the LORD.
4.
THE LIFE FAITHFUL IN GIVING TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD.
( Malachi 3:10-12 ) [10]Bring ye all the tithes into
the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now
herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of
heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive
it.
[11]And I will rebuke the devourer
for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither
shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of
hosts.
[12]And all nations shall call you
blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.
a. Macedonian
Church is our good model for faithful and liberal giving to the work of the
Lord.
( II Corinthians
8:1-5 ) [1]Moreover,
brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of
Macedonia;
[2]How that in a great trial of
affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the
riches of their liberality.
[3]For to their power, I bear
record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
[4]Praying us with much intreaty
that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the
ministering to the saints.
[5]And this they did, not as we
hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of
God.
5.
THE LIFE WITH TOTAL HUMBLENESS BEFORE GOD.
( James 4: 6- 10 ) [6]But he giveth more grace.
Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
[7]Submit yourselves therefore to
God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[8]Draw nigh to God, and he will
draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye
double minded.
[9]Be afflicted, and mourn, and
weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[10]Humble yourselves in the sight
of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
a. Paul was a
good model in humbleness in effective soulwinning.
( 1Corinthians
9:19-22 ) [19]For
though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I
might gain the more.
[20]And unto the Jews I became as
a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the
law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
[21]To them that are without law,
as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,)
that I might gain them that are without law.
[22]To the weak became I as weak,
that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by
all means save some.
* God bless you all always *
