WHY CHRISTIAN SHOULD BE CONTENTED IN
JESUS CHRIST?
(Psalms 23:1) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall
not want.
(Philippians 4:11) Not that I speak in respect of
want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
* INTRODUCTION:
a. King David experience perfect satisfaction to his Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
b. King remember how the Lord gave him victory over his battle with
giant Goliath.
c. King David also always remember how God protect him and His sheep
over lions and bear that want to eat the sheep of His father.
d. King David acknowledge his blessedness that God anoint him to be the
king of Israel.
e. King David even in his low moment in his life the Lord did leave him
and forsake him.
* SOME GREAT THINGS WHY CHRISTIAN ARE CONTENTED IN JESUS
CHRIST.
1. IN JESUS CHRIST WE EXPERIENCE THE GREAT SALVATION OF
OUR SOUL.
(Hebrews 2:3) How shall we escape, if we neglect
so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was
confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
* Great salvation because of the great love of God to us as lost and
hopeless sinners.
(Ephesians 2:12) That at that time ye were without
Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the
covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
2. IN JESUS CHRIST WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH OUR
FAITH IN HIM.
(Romans 5:1) Therefore being justified by
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
(Philippians 4:8-9) [8]Finally, brethren, whatsoever
things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are
of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on
these things.
[9]Those things, which ye have
both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace
shall be with you.
3. IN JESUS CHRIST HAVE THE WISDOM OF AND RIGHTEOUSNESS
BEFORE GOD THE FATHER.
( 1 Corinthians
1:30-31) [30]But of
him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and
righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
[31]That, according as it is
written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
* God called us saints in Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:2,) [2]Unto the church of God which is
at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints,
with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both
theirs and ours:
4. IN JESUS CHRIST WE HAVE THE LIGTH OF CHRIST IN OUR
LIFE.
(John 1:4-5) [4]In him was life; and the life
was the light of men.
[5]And the light shineth in
darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
* ( Matthew 5:16) Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.
5. IN JESUS CHRIST WE HAVE PERFECT HOPE IN HIM.
(Colossians 1:27) To whom God would make known what
is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ
in you, the hope of glory:
* We have of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ at His coming.
(1 Thessalonians
4:13-16) [13]But I
would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep,
that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14]For if we believe that Jesus
died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with
him.
[15]For this we say unto you by
the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the
Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
[16]For the Lord himself shall
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the
trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
6. IN JESUS CHRIST WE ARE CHOSEN TO BE WORKERS OF GOD.
(John 15:16) Ye have not chosen me, but I have
chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that
your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my
name, he may give it you.
*( 1Corinthians 3:9)
For we are
labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
* To God be the glory *
