[W] [PREACHING LESSON 19:] GREAT LESSONS TO LEARN FROM PHILIPPIANS 4:19

GREAT LESSONS TO LEARN FROM PHILIPPIANS 4:19

(Philippians 4:19) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

I. GOD IS OUR GREAT PROVIDER.

* God is the great God the bible said and He is the great provider for the believers of Christ.

(Psalms 145:3-10) Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Psalms 145:4-10 [4]One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

[5]I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

[6]And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

[7]They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

[8]The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

[9]The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

[10]All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.

1. No matter what the need is, the need is not greater than God.

2. God can and will meet the need, but note the pronoun "my."

3. It is "my God" who shall provide for the needs.

4. A person has to make sure... that the God who can really provide for needs is his God.

5. That he knows God personally??well enough that he can trust and depend upon God to meet his need.

II. OUR GREAT GOD ASSURED US OF HIS PROMISE TO HIS DEAR CHILDREN.

(Titus 1:2) In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

a. God owns everything in this World and nothing is too hard for Him to give to His Children.

Deuteronomy 10:14-15 [14]Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

[15]Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.

(Jeremiah 32:17-19)

[17]Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

[18]Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

[19]Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

1. Note: "my God shall supply ."

2. There is no question about the provision being supplied.

3. God is God; therefore, He is able to provide and He will supply whatever provision His dear child needs

III.OUR GREAT GOD IS THE GREAT PROVIDER OF THE BELIEVERS OF CHRIST OF ALL THEIR NEEDS WHEN WE PRAY

(Psalms 145:15-18) [15]The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

[16]Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.

[17]The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.

[18]The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

1. Note: "all your needs."

2. This promise does not refer only to the physical needs for food, clothing, and shelter.

3. It refers to mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

4. It refers to any need that arises, engulfs, or confronts the believer.

5. No need will be omitted or overlooked.

6. No need is too big or too little.

7. No need is unimportant??not to God, not if His dear child is really experiencing the need

IV. OUR GREAT GOD WANT THE CHRISTIAN TO LEARN TO ALWAYS PUT OUR FAITH IN HIM TO PROVIDES ALL YOUR NEEDS.

(Hebrews 11:1-8) [1]Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

[3]Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

[4]By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

[5]By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

[6]But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

[7]By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

[8]By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

1. Some lesson such as more trust, endurance, love, joy, peace, gentleness, meekness, or control.

2. There may be some testimony that the believer needs to share as to the strength of Christ which carries us through trials.

3. But no matter what the trial or need is, God will supply all our needs.

V. OUR GREAT GOD WANT TO GIVE HIS DEAR CHILDREN HIS PROMISE ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GODS GLORY.

Philippians 4:19-20 [19]But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

[20]Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1. Note: "according to His riches in glory."

2. Take all the riches and wealth, glory and majesty of heaven??it is all available to meet the needs of God's dear people.

3. There is no limit??not even a fraction??to the great resources at God's disposal.

4. God can provide for any need.

VI. WE HAVE THE GREAT MEDIATOR THAT WILL BRING TO GOD THE FATHER FOR ALL THE NEEDS OF GOD'S PEOPLE.

(1 Timothy 2:5) For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1. Note: "By Christ Jesus."

2. This is critical to note, for God does nothing apart from Christ.

3. No person can approach God without coming to Him through Christ Jesus.

4. This is the key to having our needs met: surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ, and asking God to meet our needs in Him.

(2 Cor.9:8). And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Why does God meet our needs?

*It is essential for our encouragement.

It is essential for our development.

It is essential for our confidence in the character of God.

What are our needs tonight? God desires to meet them. To offer us encouragement, to further our development, and to give us confidence in His character.

* God bless you all always *
