[W] [PREACHING LESSON 11:] 6 WAYS TO PREPARE FOR THE SOON COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

6 WAYS TO PREPARE FOR THE SOON COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

Mark 13:24-37 [24]But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

[25]And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

[26]And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

[27]And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

[28]Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

[29]So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

[30]Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

[31]Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

[32]But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

[33]Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

[34]For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

[35]Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

[36]Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

[37]And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

1. LIVE IN THE LIGHT BEING THE CHILDREN OF LIGHT AS WE WAIT FOR CHRIST SOON COMING .

( 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11) [5]Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

[6]Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

[7]For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

[8]But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

[9]For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

[10]Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

[11]Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

2. BE DECERNING CHRISTIAN WHAT TIME IS IT NOW THAT ANYTIME CHRIST WILL COME TODAY OR TOMORROW HE EVEN AT THE DOOR OF OUR HOUSE.

(Matthew 24:45-51) [45]Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

[46]Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

[47]Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

[48]But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

[49]And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

[50]The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

[51]And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

(Mathew 24:33-36) [33]So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

[34]Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

[35]Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

[36]But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

3. BELIEVED THAT THE PROMISE OF HIS IS SURE AND CERTAIN.

(Mark 13:32-37) [32]But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

4. ALWAYS PUT OUR HOPE OF THE PROMISE OF THE COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

(Titus 2:13) Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

5. ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHE OF THE PROMISE OF THE COMING OF CHRIST FOR THE BELIEVERS.

(I Thessalonians 4:13-18) [13]But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

[14]For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

[15]For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

[16]For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

[17]Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[18]Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

6. KEEP ON DOING THE WORK OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST THAT PUT IN OUR ACCOUNT AND CONTINUE TO BE FAITHFUL.

(Matthew 24:45-49) [45]Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

[46]Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

[47]Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

[48]But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

[49]And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

* God bless you all always *
