WHAT INVOLVED IN COMMITTED TO PLANT MORE MISSIONS BY THE LOCAL CHURCH?
( Acts 5:26-29 ) [26]Then went the captain with the
officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest
they should have been stoned.
[27]And when they had brought
them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
[28]Saying, Did not we straitly
command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled
Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
[29]Then Peter and the other
apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
* INTRODUCTION:
a. Jerusalem is our good model for Committed to fulfill the great
commission of the Lord Jesus. They were
hindered to continue sharing the gospel of Christ. But the good thing to Jerusalem Church the
more they were hindered the more becoming Committed to fulfill the great
commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
b. The Mission Minded Church always desires to none stop planting more
Missions even we have no enough enough budget to support the new send out Missionaries.
But we always stick to reach our goal to plan more Missions.
c. We have a very nice story in our Church during Pandemic 2020-2021.
Our faithful Church members a husband and wife Kuya Toto a security guard and
sister Nina a factory worker. Decided to go back home in Northern Samar. Tell
the whole story. The Lord used them as
great instruments for our Church to plant more 30 Missionaries in 2021-24. 14
Missionaries send out in Northern Samar and 20. Missionaries in Western
Samar. To God be the glory.
1. IT INVOLVED THE FIRST LOVE TO THE GREAT COMMISSION OF
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
( Revelation 2:4-5 )
[4]Nevertheless
I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
[5]Remember therefore from whence
thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto
thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou
repent.
a. The first love of the Lord Jesus Christ is the great commission given
to His Church to fulfill it. To spread the gospel of Christ up to end of the
World.
( Mathew 28:19-20 ) [19]Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost:
[20]Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto
the end of the world. Amen.
b. This is the very reason why the Lord Jesus Christ came down on earth
is seek and to save that which was lost.
( Luke 19:10 ) For the Son of man is come to seek
and to save that which was lost.
* Jerusalem Church was the good example followed the steps of the Lord
Jesus Christ to reach the lost at any cost.
c. Christ heart always touch and move with compassion on them those lost
people that are scattered abroad with out a Saviour and will go to hell forever
and ever.
( Mathew 9:35-36 ) [35]And Jesus went about all the
cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of
the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
[36]But when he saw the
multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and
were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
d. Christ always Challenge His disciples to look on the fields for they
are white already to harvest.
( John 4:35 ) Say not ye, There are yet four
months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and
look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
e. The love of the Church to Christ constraineth us to win the lost at
any cost and time at any place. To God be the glory.
* Do not leave the first love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
* Do not be busy on many activities in the Church that is involved the
winning of lost people.
2. IT INVOLVED FOCUS ON THE GREAT HARVEST OF PRECIOUS
SOULS.
( John 4:35 ) Say not ye, There are yet four
months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and
look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
a. Christ desire is that all lost people all over the World might be
saved.
( 1 Timothy 2:4 ) Who will have all men to be saved,
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
b. Christ focus on the great value of precious souls.
( Mark 8:36 ) For what shall it profit a man, if
he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
c. Paul made himself a servants unto all that he may rescue more
precious souls that will sure go to hell.
( I Corinthians
9:19-22 ) [19]For
though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I
might gain the more.
[20]And unto the Jews I became as
a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the
law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
[21]To them that are without law,
as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,)
that I might gain them that are without law.
[22]To the weak became I as weak,
that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by
all means save some.
d.So sad in many Churches they focus on many things that is not concern
for the Salvation of many lost people.
* Even though we have many good Ministries in our Church but not for the
salvation of many precious souls. This
is great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. This cannot glorify. But if the
Church will focus on the salvation of Even one lost sinner Angels in heaven are
rejoicing before God.
( Luke 15:3-7) [3]And he spake this parable unto
them, saying,
[4]What man of you, having an
hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in
the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
[5]And when he hath found it, he
layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
[6]And when he cometh home, he
calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me;
for I have found my sheep which was lost.
[7]I say unto you, that likewise
joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety
and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
* Church or Churches let's focus on the salvation of many precious
souls. Amen and amen!!!
3. IT INVOLVED FAITH TO GOD TO FULFILL THE GREAT
COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
( Hebrews 11:6 ) But without faith it is impossible
to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he
is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
a. Fulfilling the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ cannot
accomplish by secular ways or by our own
power.
b. Christ seriously said to His local Church " For without me ye
can do nothing. "
( John 15:1-5 ) [1]I am the true vine, and my
Father is the husbandman.
[2]Every branch in me that beareth
not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it,
that it may bring forth more fruit.
[3]Now ye are clean through the
word which I have spoken unto you.
[4]Abide in me, and I in you. As
the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more
can ye, except ye abide in me.
[5]I am the vine, ye are the
branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much
fruit: for without me ye can do nothing
c. Paul encourage us the local Church in
( Philippians 4:13 )
I can do
all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
d. Antioch Church experience the Hands of God was with them and so many
precious souls being saved even they faced great persecution in their time.
( Acts 11:19-24 ) [19]Now they which were scattered
abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as
Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews
only.
[20]And some of them were men of
Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the
Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
[21]And the hand of the Lord was
with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
[22]Then tidings of these things
came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth
Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
[23]Who, when he came, and had
seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of
heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
[24]For he was a good man, and
full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
* Great faith to God involved fulfilling the great commission of the
Lord Jesus Christ with victory.
( I Corinthians
15:57-58 ) [57]But
thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
[58]Therefore, my beloved
brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
4. IT INVOLVED FAITHFULNESS IN SUPPORTING MORE MISSIONS.
( Philippians
4:15-16 ) [15]Now ye
Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed
from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and
receiving, but ye only.
[16]For even in Thessalonica ye
sent once and again unto my necessity.
a. Paul gave his good commendation on the Faithfulness in supporting him
by the Philippians Church on his Mission.
* Philippians
4:15-16
* The Church of in Philippians supported him and no other supported him
and no other Church but them only.
[15]Now ye Philippians know also,
that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church
communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
b. Paul also said that the Philippians Church supported him again and
again. This speaks of their faithfulness to support the Mission work.
[16]For even in Thessalonica ye
sent once and again unto my necessity.
c. Paul also was so bless by the faithfulness of Epapholroditus. That
was full of all he needs in the Mission work because Epaphroditus was so
generous and faithful in supporting the Mission work.
Philippians 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am
full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an
odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
d. They Church also in Macedonia are good Model also in faithfulness in
supporting the Missionaries in the Mission field.
( II Corinthians
8:1-5 ) [1]Moreover,
brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of
Macedonia;
[2]How that in a great trial of
affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the
riches of their liberality.
[3]For to their power, I bear
record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
[4]Praying us with much intreaty
that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the
ministering to the saints.
[5]And this they did, not as we
hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of
God.
* They sacrificially and give liberaly and bountifully and cheerfully.
( IICorinthians
9:6-7) [6]But
this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which
soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
[7]Every man according as he
purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for
God loveth a cheerful giver.
* Church let's support the Mission work faithfully and cheerfully and
bountifully.
* In our Church we give sacrificially every Sunday. Just to meet all the
support of almost 60 Missionaries of the Lord Jesus Christ.
* We always challenge our Church members to be faithful in giving to the
Mission work. Big Amen and Amen!!!
5. IT INVOLVE THE FULL SUPPORT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE
MIDST OF THE LOCAL CHURCH
( Acts 1:8 ) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
a. The Holy Spirit is our perfect Partner and guidance in fulfilling the
great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
( John 16:13 ) [13]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew
you things to come.
b. Philip led by the Holy Spirit to the right place, to time and right
people that are ready to hear the gospel of Christ.
( Acts 8:26-36) [26]And the angel of the Lord
spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that
goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
[27]And he arose and went: and,
behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of
the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to
Jerusalem for to worship,
[28]Was returning, and sitting in
his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
[29]Then the Spirit said unto
Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
[30]And Philip ran thither to him,
and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou
readest?
[31]And he said, How can I, except
some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit
with him.
[32]The place of the scripture
which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb
dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
[33]In his humiliation his
judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is
taken from the earth.
[34]And the eunuch answered
Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself,
or of some other man?
[35]Then Philip opened his mouth,
and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
[36]And as they went on their way,
they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what
doth hinder me to be baptized
c. The Holy Spirit always give the vision for Mission to all God
servants.
( Acts 16:8-10 ) [8]And they passing by Mysia came
down to Troas.
[9]And a vision appeared to Paul
in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over
into Macedonia, and help us.
[10]And after he had seen the
vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering
that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
Acts 2:34-41 [34]For David is not ascended into
the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my
right hand,
[35]Until I make thy foes thy
footstool.
[36]Therefore let all the house of
Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have
crucified, both Lord and Christ.
[37]Now when they heard this, they
were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the
apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
[38]Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39]For the promise is unto you,
and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord
our God shall call.
[40]And with many other words did
he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
[41]Then they that gladly received
his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three
thousand souls
* We need the Holy Spirit to move in the midst of our Church to assure
the power from above for fruitfulness in fulfilling the great commission of the
Lord Jesus Christ.
( Acts 1:8 )Acts 1:8 [8]But ye shall receive
power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.
* Conclusion:
* With these 5 great things involved we can assure the fruitfulness of
the Church as the great of God to committed Church to fulfill the great
commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
* ( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves
continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
[5]And the saying pleased the
whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy
Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and
Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
[6]Whom they set before the
apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
[7]And the word of God increased;
and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great
company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
* To God be the glory *
