 ALWAYS CHOOSE GOD'S OLD PATH

 

(Jeremiah 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

1. THIS IS A GODLY PATH.

(Jeremiah 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

* Thus, saith the Lord, stand ye the ways."

 a. Godly Path because it is a Holy God who prepared a Godly path for His people.

Psalms 128:1-6 1. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

2.For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

3.Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

4.Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

5.The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

6.Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

2. THIS IS A GUARANTEED PATH.

* Guaranteed- mean sure or with assurance.

(Jeremiah 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

" ye shall find rest for your souls."

a. Gods Path are always a sure path.

Proverbs 10:6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28.The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

3. THIS IS A GOOD PATH.

(Jeremiah 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

* The old Path is a good Path.

( Psalms 25 :4-5) ⁴ Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

⁵ Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

4. THIS IS A GAINFUL PATH.

(Jeremiah 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”

* Walk therein and ye shall find rest for your souls."

(Timothy 4:7-8)  7.I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8.Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

5. THIS IS A GIFT PATH FOR YOU BY THE LORD.

(Jeremiah 6:16) “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will  not walk therein.”

 * " ask for the old paths and shall find rest for your souls. Amen and amen!!!

a. God’s Path is a precious gift of God to His Children

 1. In God's Path there is sure and perfect protection

( Psalms 91:3-6) 3.Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4.He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5.Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6.Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

b. In God's Path there is perfect peace.

Philippians 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
