FIVE (5) GREAT THINGS OF GOD THAT ARE OUR STRONGHOLD IN DIFFICULT TIMES.

 

(Nahum 1 :7)  The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

* Thank be to God for His Mercy endureth forever. King David always counts the great goodness of God when Gods people in great trouble. Looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.

* Paul also when facing great troubles in Christian he counts on Gods great goodness. He claim

( Philippians 4:13.) "I can do all through Christ which strengtheneth me ."

* WE HAVE FIVE (5) GREAT GOODNESS OF GOD THAT WE WILL STUDY TONIGHT.

1. THE SUFFICIENT GRACE OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.

( II Corinthians 12:9 ) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me

1. God made His is always available for all Gods people whether in difficult times or not and He made sufficient for all of us because we are Gods dear children.

( 1 Corinthians 15:10 ) But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

2. Paul was confident to face the challenges in the ministry of the Lord. Paul said with strong confidence in God " I am what I am by the grace of God. Amen and amen.

3. God assured all God’s servant the bountiful grace to give us strength when we facing trials and tribulation in Christian life.

(1 Peter 5:10) But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

3. We all got saved by the grace of God and bless His people by bountiful grace of God in our Christian because God is the God of all grace the bible said.

* Praising always for His bountiful grace is always available for His dear Children even facing difficult things in our Christian life.

2. THE GREAT PROTECTION OF GOD IN OUR DAILY LIFE IS OUR STRONGHOLD.

( Psalms 91:1-10 ) 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shiel5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.d and buckler.

1. God mention His multiple protection that we will expect Him as our Stronghold in of great trouble and tribulation in our life.

 * King David choose Gods bountiful protection as sure Stronghold in times of crisis in our Christian life.

 a. God is his refuge and fortress in his life. King David was very confident to say in God I will put my trust.

b. King David also how God will deliver him from the snare of the fowler and from noisome pestilence in verse 3.

c. King David believed and expect God will cover him by feathers as his shield and buckler for his perfect protection in verse 4.

d. God assured for king David not to be afraid for the terror by night and arrow that flieth by night and the danger of pestilence he will not worry about God said. V 5-6.

e. God promise to Gods people send His 1000 thousands of His just to protect the Children of God.

f. King David confirm to us that we can count on God for perfect protection when we face some deep, deep problem and trouble in our Christian life.

 g. Finally king David encourage us Christians to make God our refuge and expect our spiritual enemy cannot do evil on us.

( Psalms 91:9-10 ) 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

* God’s perfect protection is ready for God’s people and is our perfect Stronghold in times of difficulties in our Christian life. Amen and Amen

3. THE GREATNESS OF GOD'S LOVE IS OUR STRONGHOLD.

( Ephesians 2:4 ) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

* For the Love of Christ constrained us.

( II Corinthians 5:14 )  For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead.

1. God’s love is great the Bible said and we can expect in times we face great trouble in our Christian life.

(Ephesians 2:4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

2. God’s love for all the lost sinners never change because it by great love we all got saved and became the children of God.

( John 3:16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

( John 1:12-13 ) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13.Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 

( John 3:16 ) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

3. The love of God is our Stronghold in times we are in deep needs and trouble because God said He first love us not we.

( 1 John 4:19 ) We love him, because he first loved us.

4. The Christians who experience the great love of God should share to others the love of God also. God gave the Christians the reason to love another because we experience God’s love to us and this is the reason that we know as our Lord and Savior of our life.

* We experience the Salvation of souls because we know God love us through the Jesus Christ who died for sin and gave eternal life.

1 John 4:11-19  11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

5. Because God is love we ought to love one another also. We know God dwelleth in us because of the love of the we received when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior of our life.

12.No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13.Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

6. Now because of the love of God that we received we are God's instrument to share to the lost people the love of to them so they will be saved also.

14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15.Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

7. The love of God gave us the assurance of our Salvation.

16.And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

8. The love of God gave us the confidence we are sure we will not judge at the judgement seat of Christ together with to lost souls sinners in hell.

*( II Corinthians 5:10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

17.Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18.There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

9. Again God is reminding us again that it was God who love us first and not we. Amen and amen.

19.We love him, because he first loved us.

*We can be sure the love to be our Stronghold in times we face great difficulties in our Christian life. Amen and amen!!!

4. THE GREAT MERCY AND FAITHFULNESS OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.

( Lamentation 3:21-23 ) 21. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23.They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

1. The Mercy of is and an Everlasting Mercy for all His dear Children.

(Psalms 89:2) For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

1. God assure to support His dear Children of Gods Mercy build up forever and His faithfulness stablish in the very heaven He said.

(Psalms 103:17) But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

2. Jeremiah always recall or remember the Mercy of God. That through God Mercy still he enjoys the God hath given and serve faithfully and bountifully.

* Jeremiah recalls the Mercy of God that he not yet consumes or what he, he still enjoying his life and dead. He can still do what God wants him to in the work of the Lord. Amen and amen!!!

* We count on Gods everlasting mercy and faithfulness in times we are deep trouble and problem in Christian life.

* Jeremiah recall Gods Mercy and faithfulness in his life.

5. THE GREAT GOODNESS OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.

( Psalms 145:7 ) They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

1. Good express and announce to His dear Children that His goodness to them is great and ready to claim by God people.

2. The great goodness of God leads us to know who our God is. God is a great God and His greatness is unsearchable.

( Psalms 145:1-3 ) 1 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.

2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

* The Bible tells us that our great God nothing is too hard for Him to show His great good to all His Children.

( Jeremiah 32:17-19 ) 17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

3. The great goodness of express the graciousness of God to all His people

( Psalms 145  :8 ) The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

* The great goodness shows that He is compassionate God, that He is slow to anger God. Meaning He deal us dear Children we done wrong. He will give you a strong job but deal the trouble that we to explain to us about wrong deeds.

and said He is of with great mercy. Oh, what great comfort we have from our God whose goodness is great and gracious for us and slow to anger always merciful to us all.

4. Lastly our God is always good to His Children at times in good and also in good time.

( Psalms  145:9-14 ) 9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.

11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.

14 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.

* To God be the glory *
