Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,
Acts 5:18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common
prison.
Acts 5:19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and
brought them forth, and said,
Acts 5:20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this
life.
Acts 5:21 And when they heard [that], they entered into the temple early in the
morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and
called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and
sent to the prison to have them brought.
Acts 5:22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they

Acts 5:23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the
keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no
man within.
Acts 5:24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief

* Paul also face a great crisis in times great sickness but is
sufficient of His grace and was healed.
( II Corinthians
1:4-10 ) 4 Who
comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which
are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ
abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
6 And whether we be afflicted, it
is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of
the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for
your consolation and salvation.
7 And our hope of you is stedfast,
knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the
consolation.
8 For we would not, brethren, have
you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out
of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
9 But we had the sentence of death
in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth
the dead:
10 Who delivered us from so great
a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
God comforteth Paul in of his great sickness. He almost lost his life
but the Lord delivered him in time his helplessness and hopelessness.
( II Corinthians
1:10 ) 10 Who
delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he
will yet deliver us;
* Stronghold - A place of security of the Christians.
* 6 Great things God is our Stronghold in difficult times.
1. THE SUFFICIENT GRACE OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.
( II Corinthians
12:9 ) And he
said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect
in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that
the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2. THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.
( Nehemiah 8:10 ) Then he said unto them, Go your
way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom
nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry;
for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
3. THE GREATNESS OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.
( Psalms 145:3-4 ) 3. Great is the LORD, and greatly
to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
4. One generation shall praise thy
works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts
4. THE GLORIOUS HONOUR OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.
( Psalms 145:5 ) I will speak of the glorious
honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
5. THE GREAT GOODNESS OF GOD IS OUR STRONGHOLD.
( Psalms 145:7 ) They shall abundantly utter the
memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.
6. THE GREAT MERCY AND FAITHFULNESS OF GOD IS OUR
STRONGHOLD.
( Lamention 3:21-23
) 21. This I
recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22.It is of the LORD'S mercies
that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23.They are new every morning:
great is thy faithfulness.
7. THE GREATNESS OF GOD'S LOVE IS OUR STRONGHOLD.
( Ephesians 2:4 ) 4 But God, who is rich in mercy,
for his great love wherewith he loved us,
* For the Love of Christ constraineth us.
( II Corinthians
5:14 ) 14 For the
love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for
all, then were all dead:
8. THE GREAT PROTECTION OF GOD IN OUR DAILY LIFE IS OUR
STRONGHOLD.
( Psalms 91:1-10 ) 1 He that dwelleth in the secret
place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee
from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his
feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield
and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the
terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
7 A thousand shall fall at thy
side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou
behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD,
which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall
thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels
charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
* God bless you all always *
