WHAT ARE THE REASONS THAT CHRISTIANS CAN
LIVE ALIVE UNTO GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.
( Romans 6:11 ) 11 Likewise reckon ye also
yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ
our Lord.
1. BECAUSE OUR OLD NAN ( Our Adamic
Nature ) WAS CRUCIFIED TOGETHER WITH CHRIST ON THE CROSS.
( Romans 6:6 ) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with
him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not
serve sin.
a. The Bible said that body of sin
might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
2. BECAUSE WE BELIEVE WE ARE DEAD TO
SIN TOGETHER CHRIST WE CAN LIVE WITH CHRIST IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
( Romans 6: 7-8 ) 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if
we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
3. BECAUSE WE HAVE NOW THE POWER NOT
TO OBEY THE LUST OF OUR FLESH BECAUSE WE ARE INDEED DEAD TO SIN.
( Romans 6:11-12 ) 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead
indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not
sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts
thereof.
a. God is commanding us to reckon (
consider or take it ) also that we are dead to sin.
4. BECAUSE WE ARE UNDER GRACE OF GOD
AND NOT UNDER THE LAW OF GOD.
( Romans 6: 14-15) 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye
are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What
then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God
forbid.
a. Being under the law of God.
" for the wages of sin is death."
( Romans 6:23 ) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
a. We are now under the grace of God.
( Ephesians 2:8-9 ) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of
works, lest any man should boast.
5. BECAUSE NOW GOD IS COMMANDING US
NOT TO YIELD YOURSELVES TO BE THE SERVANT SIN OF BUT TO BE THE SERVANT OF
RIGHTEOUSNESS.
( Romans 6:16-18 ) 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves
servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto
death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God
be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart
that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being
then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
a. Yield ourselves to be the servant
of righteousness.
( Romans 6:18 ) Being then
made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
* God bless you all always *
