THE MULTIPLE SPIRITUAL GIFTS OF PASTORS FROM THE
LORD
INTRODUCTION:
The
Lord said, "I will give you pastors according to mine heart." Pastors
are a special gift from God to His Church.
Jeremiah 3:15 "And I
will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with
knowledge and understanding."
Pastors
are God's special gift to His Church, sent to feed the flock with the knowledge
of God and to care for them as a shepherd.
Here
are the multiple blessings that pastors receive from the Lord:
1. THE LORD GIVES THE PASTOR A GOD-FEARING FAMILY TO SUPPORT
AND BACK UP HIS MINISTRY.
Psalm 128:1-4 [1]
"Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
[2] For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:
happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
[3] Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the
sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
[4] Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed
that feareth the LORD."
2. THE LORD GIVES THE PASTOR POWER, WISDOM, AND PERFECT
GUIDANCE TO LEAD THE LOCAL CHURCH.
John 16:13 "Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he
shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come."
3. THE LORD GIVES THE PASTOR A BURDEN FOR REACHING OUT TO
LOST PEOPLE IN HIS COMMUNITY.
Romans 10:1 "Brethren,
my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be
saved."
Acts 2:41 "Then
they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls."
4. THE LORD SURROUNDS THE PASTOR WITH MATURE PEOPLE WHO
SUPPORT THE LOCAL CHURCH.
Ephesians 4:11-16 [11]
"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists;
and some, pastors and teachers;
[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the
work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of
the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14] That we henceforth be no more children,
tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the
sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
[15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up
into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
[16] From whom the whole body fitly joined
together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the
effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body
unto the edifying of itself in love."
5. THE LORD PROVIDES THE PASTOR WITH PEOPLE WHO FINANCIALLY
SUPPORT THE MINISTRY.
2 Corinthians 9:6-11 [6]
"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and
he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
[7] Every man according as he purposeth in his
heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a
cheerful giver.
[8] And God is able to make all grace abound
toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to
every good work:
[9] (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad;
he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
[10] Now he that ministereth seed to the sower
both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase
the fruits of your righteousness;)
[11] Being enriched in every thing to all
bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God."
6. THE LORD GIVES THE PASTOR A VISION TO PLANT MISSION WORKS
IN REGIONS BEYOND.
Acts 16:8-10 [8]
"And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
[9] And a vision appeared to Paul in the night;
There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into
Macedonia, and help us.
[10] And after he had seen the vision, immediately
we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had
called us for to preach the gospel unto them."
CONCLUSION:
God
will reward the faithfulness of pastors who serve sincerely in the ministry of
the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 [19]
"For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in
the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
[20] For ye are our glory and joy."
God
bless you all always!
