 “FIX THE PROBLEM FROM WITHIN”

 

( Romans 7: 15-20 ) 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Introduction:

a. Paul experience the problem from within.

( Romans 7:16-17 ) 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

 

1. THE PROBLEM FROM WITHIN IS SIN.

 

 V. 17. " but sin that dwelleth in me. "

*. ( Romans 14:23 ) And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

 

2. THE PROBLEM FROM WITHIN IS THE OLDMAN.

 

( Ephesians 4: 22-31 ) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man. "

22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

27 Neither give place to the devil.

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

 

3. THE PROMBLEM FROM WITHIN IS THE LUST OF THE FLESH.

 

( 1 John 2:16-17 ) 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

*" they that are in the flesh cannot please God. "

( Romans 8: 5-8 ) 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

 

4. THE PROBLEM FROM WITHIN IS HAVING A SPIRITUAL BATTLE IN YOUR LIFE.

 

( Galatians 5:17-21 ) 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

* There is always war inside of your body the desire of the flesh agaist the desire of the spirit.

( Galatians 5:17 ) 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

 

5. THE PROBLEM FROM WITHIN IS THE LOVE TO THE WORLD OF THE CHRISTIAN.

 

( 1 John 2: 15-17 ) 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

* Demas was a bad example Christian who love the than loving God and His Ministry.

( II Timothy 4 :10 ) For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

* Conclusion:

a. This is the reason why the Christian are always facing a spiritual battle from within it is because of sin that dwelleth from within, the old man in us our Adamic nature, the lust of the flesh if we live a carnal life style, the flesh is always having war against in our spiritual life,

Because Christian always choose to love the World like Demas. There are really a big problem from within in the life of the Christian.
