WHAT PROVES THE GREAT GOODNESS OF GOD TO
HIS CHURCH?
( Psalms 145:5-10 ) 5 I will speak of the glorious
honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
6 And men
shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy
greatness.
7 They
shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy
righteousness.
8 The LORD
is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
9 The LORD
is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
10 All thy
works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee.
INTRODUCTION.
a. The work of the Lord is a great
work and we experience the great goodness of God to His Church.
( Psalms 126:2-3 ) 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our
tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great
things for them.
3 The LORD
hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
1. THE GREAT GOODNESS OF GOD PROVES
HIS GREAT LOVE TO HIS CHURCH.
( Ephesians 5:25-27 )
25.Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26.That he
might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
26.That he
might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or
any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
2. GOD’S GREAT GOODNESS GOD PROVES
THE BOUNTIFUL GRACE TO HIS CHURCH.
( II Corinthians 12:9 ) 9. And he said unto me, My grace
is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me.
a. The great reasons of great revival
inside the local it is because of the grace of God.
( Acts 11:21-23 ) 21. And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a
great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
21.Then
tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in
Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
23.Who,
when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all,
that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
b. Paul always experience the grace
of God in his ministry.
( I Corinthians 15:10 ) 10.But by the grace of God I am
what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I
laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which
was with me.
3. GOD'S GREAT GOODNESS PROVES THE
FAITHFULNESS OF GOD HIS CHURCH.
( Lamentations 3:21-23) 21.This I recall to my mind,
therefore have I hope.
22.It is
of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail
not.
23.They
are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
a. The faithfulness of God always experiences
in the midst of the congregation.
( Psalms 89:5 ) 5.And the
heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the
congregation of the saints.
a. The presence of God proves the
faithfulness of God to His Church.
b. The presence of God is the beauty
of God the we experience in worshipping God in His Temple.
( Psalms 27:4 ) One [thing] have I desired of the
Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the
days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his
temple.
4. GOD'S GREAT GOODNESS PROVES HIS
THOUGHTFULNESS TO HIS CHURCH
( Philippians 4:19 ) But my God shall supply all your need according to
his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
a. Paul was very thankful for the
thoughtfulness of the Philippians Church for the support he received in the
work of the Lord.
( Philippians 4:15-16 ) 15.Now ye Philippians know also,
that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from

Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving,
but ye only.
For even
in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
b. God used the faithful Church in
giving to support the needs of the Missionaries of the Lord Jesus Christ.
( II Corinthians 8:1-5 ) 1.Moreover, brethren, we do you to
wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep
poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
3. For to
their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of
themselves;
4. Praying
us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the
fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
5.And this
they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and
unto us by the will of God.
5. GOD'S GREAT GOODNESS PROVES HIS
PERFECT PROMISE AT THE COMING OF CHRIST TO HIS CHURCH.
( Titus 2:13 ) Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious
appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
a. Christ promise His Church at His
coming.
( Mathew 24:45-47) 45. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom
his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46.
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47. Verily
I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
