THE SECRET
PLACE OF PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN
(ANG LIHIM NA DAKO NG PANALANGIN NG ISANG KRISTIYANO)
MATTHEW 6:6 "But
thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy
door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in
secret shall reward thee openly."
Introduction:
a.
God, who is the author of prayer, chose the right way for His people to talk to
Him secretly, privately, and sacredly.
b. God
designed the prayer of the Christian to be deeply personal and private between
Him and His dear children.
PSALMS 91:1 "He
that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty."
The
Important Things to Know About the Secret Place of Prayer:
I. IT
IS A SACRED PLACE OF GOD FOR HIS DEAR CHILDREN

ay isang banal na dako ng Diyos para sa Kanyang mga minamahal na anak)
HEBREWS 4:12 "For
the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
a. The
secret place for the Christian to pray is called the throne of grace of God.
b.
Every Christian who enters into this secret place—which is the throne of grace
of God—can expect to find the grace and mercy of God, and is assured of finding
help from the Lord.
II. IT IS A SURE PLACE OF GOD'S PERFECT PROTECTION
(Ito
ay isang tiyak na dako ng ganap na pag-iingat ng Diyos)
PSALMS 91:3-4 "Surely
he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome
pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt
thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
a. The
secret place of the Most High assures us that we can find God's perfect
protection against the attacks of our spiritual enemy.
b.
King David gave his testimony of how he found God's perfect protection when he
came to God in the secret place.
PSALMS 56:9 "When
I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for
me."
III.
IT IS THE SAFEST PLACE FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BATTLE AGAINST THE ENEMY

ang pinakaligtas na dako para sa ating espiritwal na pakikipaglaban laban sa
kaaway)
PSALMS 91:1 "He
that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow
of the Almighty."
a. God
Himself gives the assurance of perfect protection when we come to Him in
prayer.
JOHN 14:6 "Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me."
b. God
comforts His dear children, telling them not to fear, for He will rescue us
from the terror by night.
PSALMS 91:5 "Thou
shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by
day;"
c. God
will destroy our enemy, and you will witness it with your own eyes.
PSALMS 91:7-8 "A
thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it
shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the
reward of the wicked."
IV. IT IS A PLACE OF SATISFACTION TO ENJOY GOD'S PROMISE
TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS

PSALMS 91:9-16 "Because
thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy
habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep
thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash
thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the
young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set
his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because
he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will
be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life
will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."
a. God
was greatly pleased by King David's expressions of love toward Him.
b. God
promised that He will answer when King David comes to Him in prayer.
PSALMS 91:15 "He
shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I
will deliver him, and honour him."
c. God
promised to satisfy King David with long life and show him salvation against
his enemies.
PSALMS 91:16 "With
long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."
Conclusion:
The
secret place of the Most High is sacred, and He promises that the Christian
will find grace, mercy, and help in times of need.
HEBREWS 4:16 "Let
us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy,
and find grace to help in time of need."
