THE SECRET PLACE OF PRAYER OF THE CHRISTIAN

(ANG LIHIM NA DAKO NG PANALANGIN NG ISANG KRISTIYANO)

MATTHEW 6:6 "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

Introduction:

a. God, who is the author of prayer, chose the right way for His people to talk to Him secretly, privately, and sacredly.

b. God designed the prayer of the Christian to be deeply personal and private between Him and His dear children.

PSALMS 91:1 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

The Important Things to Know About the Secret Place of Prayer:

I. IT IS A SACRED PLACE OF GOD FOR HIS DEAR CHILDREN

(Ito ay isang banal na dako ng Diyos para sa Kanyang mga minamahal na anak)

HEBREWS 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

a. The secret place for the Christian to pray is called the throne of grace of God.

b. Every Christian who enters into this secret place—which is the throne of grace of God—can expect to find the grace and mercy of God, and is assured of finding help from the Lord.

II. IT IS A SURE PLACE OF GOD'S PERFECT PROTECTION

(Ito ay isang tiyak na dako ng ganap na pag-iingat ng Diyos)

PSALMS 91:3-4 "Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."

a. The secret place of the Most High assures us that we can find God's perfect protection against the attacks of our spiritual enemy.

b. King David gave his testimony of how he found God's perfect protection when he came to God in the secret place.

PSALMS 56:9 "When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me."

III. IT IS THE SAFEST PLACE FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BATTLE AGAINST THE ENEMY

(Ito ang pinakaligtas na dako para sa ating espiritwal na pakikipaglaban laban sa kaaway)

PSALMS 91:1 "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

a. God Himself gives the assurance of perfect protection when we come to Him in prayer.

JOHN 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

b. God comforts His dear children, telling them not to fear, for He will rescue us from the terror by night.

PSALMS 91:5 "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;"

c. God will destroy our enemy, and you will witness it with your own eyes.

PSALMS 91:7-8 "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked."

IV. IT IS A PLACE OF SATISFACTION TO ENJOY GOD'S PROMISE TO ANSWER OUR PRAYERS

(Ito ay isang dako ng katugunan upang tamasahin ang pangako ng Diyos na sasagutin ang ating mga panalangin)

PSALMS 91:9-16 "Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."

a. God was greatly pleased by King David's expressions of love toward Him.

b. God promised that He will answer when King David comes to Him in prayer.

PSALMS 91:15 "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him."

c. God promised to satisfy King David with long life and show him salvation against his enemies.

PSALMS 91:16 "With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."

Conclusion:

The secret place of the Most High is sacred, and He promises that the Christian will find grace, mercy, and help in times of need.

HEBREWS 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS!
