IT IS TIME TO RECALL GOD'S GOODNESS TO HIS PEOPLE IN TIMES OF GREAT TROUBLE

( Magandang lagi nating alalahanin ang lahat ng kabutihan ng Diyos sa buhay ng Cristiano )

 

LAMENTATIONS 3:21–26 "This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD."

 

Introduction:

Jeremiah recalled God’s goodness during times of great trouble in his generation.

 

LAMENTATIONS 3:21, 26 "This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope... It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD."

 

Five (5) Great Things About God’s Goodness When Facing Troubles:

 

I. LET'S RECALL GOD’S BOUNTIFUL MERCY TO HIS PEOPLE

LAMENTATIONS 3:22 — "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."

 

PSALMS 100:5 — "For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."

 

II. LET'S RECALL GOD’S BOUNTIFUL GRACE TO HIS PEOPLE

1 PETER 5:10 — "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you."

 

2 CORINTHIANS 12:9 — "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

 

III. LET'S RECALL GOD’S BOUNTIFUL LOVE TO HIS PEOPLE

EPHESIANS 2:4 — "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,"

 

2 CORINTHIANS 5:14 — "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:"

 

IV. LET'S RECALL GOD’S FAITHFULNESS TO HIS PEOPLE

LAMENTATIONS 3:23 — "They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness."

 

PSALMS 89:5 — "And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints."

 

V. LET'S RECALL GOD’S BOUNTIFUL COMPASSION TO HIS PEOPLE

PSALMS 145:8–9 — "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."
