CHRISTIANS LIVE IN COMPATIBILITY WITH CHRIST TO GLORIFY GOD IN THEIR LIVES.
JOHN 17:1–5
John 17:1 — These words
spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour
is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
Jn 17:2 — As thou
hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as
many as thou hast given him.
Jn 17:3 — And this is
life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ,
whom thou hast sent.
Jn 17:4 — I have
glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to
do.
Jn 17:5 — And now, O
Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with
thee before the world was."
INTRODUCTION
A.
Definition of "Compatible"
(May
kaisa ng espiritu sa pamumuhay Cristiano at paglilingkod sa Dios)
To be
compatible means going together well, always agreeing, walking together without
friction, and maintaining a harmonious relationship.
B. The
Compatible Christian Family
A
Christian family living in compatibility demonstrates true godliness before
God. God calls them a blessed Christian family.
PSALMS 128:1–4 "Blessed
is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt
eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with
thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy
children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the
man be blessed that feareth the LORD."
C. The
Design of the Local Church
God
designed the local church to serve Him in compatibility and unity, praising and
glorifying God together in the midst of the congregation.
D.
Harmonious Ministry Leadership
Servants
of God and church workers labor together respectfully, harmoniously, and
fruitfully.
EPHESIANS 4:13–17
Eph 4:13 — Till we all
come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a
perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Eph 4:14 — That we
henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every
wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they
lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15 — But
speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the
head, even Christ:
Eph 4:16 — From whom
the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint
supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part,
maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Eph 4:17 — This I say
therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other
Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.
SIX
(6) GREAT WAYS CHRISTIANS AND THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ARE COMPATIBLE IN
GLORIFYING GOD IN THIS WORLD
I.
COMPATIBLE IN PRAISING GOD
(May
kaisa ng espiritu ng pagpuri at pagluwalhati sa Dios tulad ni Cristo Jesus)
JOHN 17:4–5 "I
have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me
to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory
which I had with thee before the world was."
A. The
Lord Jesus is our prime example in praising and glorifying God in the house of
the Lord.
B. The
Jerusalem church provides a great model of praising and worshipping God daily
in His temple.
ACTS 2:46–47 "And
they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from
house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the
church daily such as should be saved."
ACTS 5:42 "And
daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach
Jesus Christ."
II.
COMPATIBLE IN PRAYING TO GOD
(May

LUKE 18:1 "And
he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and
not to faint."
A. The
Lord commanded His disciples that they "ought always to pray, and not
to faint." Remember: More prayer, more power; less prayer, less
power.
B. The
Jerusalem church followed the prayerful example of Jesus Christ.
ACTS 1:13–15
Acts 1:13 — And when
they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and
James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew,
James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
Acts 1:14 — These all
continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary
the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 1:15 — And in
those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number
of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
III.
COMPATIBLE IN PRACTICING GOD’S WORD IN DAILY LIFE

sa pagbubulay ng Salita ng Dios)
MATTHEW 4:4 "But
he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
A. The
Lord Jesus Christ taught that Christians do not live by physical bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
B. God
commands Christians to meditate on His precious Word day and night, and to
faithfully practice all that is written in it.
JOSHUA 1:8 "This
book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate
therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is
written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou
shalt have good success."
IV.
COMPATIBLE IN PROMOTING SPIRITUALITY IN CHRISTIAN LIFE
(May
kaisang espiritu na kanilang bigyang-halaga ang mamuhay nang may kabanalan
tulad ni Cristo Jesus sa mundong ibabaw)
JOHN 17:16–19 "They
are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy
truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I
also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they
also might be sanctified through the truth."
A. The
Word of God is the ultimate source of spiritual strength and holy living in the
Christian life.
B. The
Lord Jesus Christ is our greatest model for living a sanctified life.
JOHN 17:18–19 "As
thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified
through the truth."
V.
COMPATIBLE IN PERFECT UNITY WITH GOD
(May
kaisang espiritu sa Iglesia na magtapat na magkaisa sa gawain ng Panginoon
tulad ni Cristo Jesus)
JOHN 17:20–23
Jn 17:20 — Neither
pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through
their word;
Jn 17:21 — That they
all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may
be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Jn 17:22 — And the
glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we
are one:
Jn 17:23 — I in them,
and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may
know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
A. The
Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) demonstrates the ultimate pattern of
perfect unity for Christians.
B.
Believers demonstrate this same unity when laboring together in the work of the
Lord.
PSALMS 133:1–3 "Behold,
how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is
like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even
Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of
Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the
LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore."
VI.
COMPATIBLE IN PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL TO LOST SINNERS
(May
kaisa sa pagpapahayag ng Ebanghelyo ni Cristo Jesus sa mga taong wala pang
Cristo sa kanilang buhay)
ROMANS 1:15–16 "So,
as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome
also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God
unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the
Greek."
A.
Christians follow in the footsteps of Christ by actively sharing the gospel
with lost sinners.
B. Christ
commissioned the church to proclaim the gospel across all nations.
MATTHEW 28:19–20 "Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the
end of the world. Amen."
CONCLUSION
The
Lord Jesus Christ and the Christian are called to live in complete
compatibility—walking with the same heart, mind, and purpose—to glorify God on
this earth.
