WHAT GOD
ASSURES THE CHRISTIANS IF WE PRAY WITH A RIGHTEOUS HEART?
(JAMES 5:16) "Confess
your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
Introduction:
a. God
is a God of assurance.
(JEREMIAH 33:3) "Call
unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which
thou knowest not."
b. The
Bible is a book of assurance.
c.
Prayer is the ministry given to Christians with a great assurance of God's
answer.
(MATTHEW 7:7) "Ask,
and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you:"
I. GOD ASSURES THE PRAYER OF THE SANCTIFIED HEART OF THE
CHRISTIAN WILL BE ANSWERED.
(1 PETER 3:12) "For
the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their
prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."
a.
This is God's promise regarding the prayer of a righteous Christian: His eyes
are on the prayers of His godly children.
b. God
loves righteousness, and He loves to hear prayers.
(PSALMS 11:7) "For
the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the
upright."
c. A
pure and sanctified heart removes the spiritual barriers that hinder our
fellowship and communication with God.
II. GOD ASSURES THE PRAYER OF THE SOUL-WINNING CHURCH
WILL BE ANSWERED.
(ACTS 2:41) "Then
they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added unto them about three thousand souls."
a. The
Lord will continue to bless a soul-winning Church with godly, spirit-filled
leaders.
(ACTS 6:4-6) "But
we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man
full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor,
and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: 6 Whom they set
before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on
them."
b. God
will continue to bless the soul-winning Church with multitudes of precious
souls in their ministry.
(ACTS 6:7) "And
the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in
Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the
faith."
c.
When a local church aligns its prayers with the Great Commission, God
powerfully demonstrates His power by multiplying their spiritual harvest.
III.
GOD ASSURES THE PRAYER OF THE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN WILL BE ANSWERED.
(1 CHRONICLES 4:10) "And
Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me
indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that
thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him
that which he requested."
a. God
granted all the prayer requests of Jabez. Every aspect of life that he
requested was granted.
b. God
promises to supply all the needs of a God-fearing Christian.
(PHILIPPIANS 4:19) "But
my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus."
c. A
spiritual Christian trusts God's timing and provision, knowing that true
prosperity begins with a strong relationship with the Creator.
IV. GOD ASSURES THE PRAYER OF THE SPIRIT-FILLED CHRISTIAN
WILL BE ANSWERED.
(ROMANS 8:26) "Likewise
the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered."
a. The
Holy Spirit gives us the guidance and wisdom to ask for things that align with
God's will for our lives.
(JOHN 16:13) "Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he
shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come."
b.
Walking under the fullness of the Holy Spirit ensures our personal desires are
transformed to match God's eternal plans.
V. GOD ASSURES THE PRAYER OF THE SINCERE CHRISTIAN WILL
BE ANSWERED.
(ROMANS 10:1) "Brethren,
my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be
saved."
a.
Paul was completely sincere in praying for the salvation of the souls of his
fellow Israelites.
b. God
encourages Christians to pray for the salvation of our loved ones with many
tears.
(PSALMS 126:5-6) "They
that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing
precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves
with him."
c.
Sincerity in prayer reflects a deep, genuine compassion for humanity that
breaks through hard hearts and leads souls to repentance.
Conclusion:
a. A
righteous heart is the key that unlocks the boundless storehouse of God's
perfect promises and continuous blessings.
b.
When we pray with sincerity, spirituality, and under the full guidance of the
Holy Spirit, we can rest in the absolute certainty that our prayers are never
in vain.
c. Let
us therefore remain faithful, keeping our hearts pure and our local churches
focused on winning lost souls, confident that the Lord's ears are forever open
to our cry.
* GOD
BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS *
