[P] [PREACHING LESSON 6:] THINGS INVOLVE TO HAVE A HEALTHY CHURCH.

 THINGS INVOLVE TO HAVE A HEALTHY CHURCH.

( Acts 2:42-47 ) 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

1. IT INVOLVES THE SERIOUS STUDY OF THE WORD OF GOD.

( Acts 2:42 ) And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

a. The Word of God is the source of spiritual strength of the Christian.

( Mathew 4:4 ) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

b. The Word of God is the basis of the Christian conviction on bible principles.

 ( II Timothy 3:16-17 ) 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2. IT INVOLVES THE SPIRITUAL PARTICIPATION OF EACH CHRISTIAN IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD.

( Acts 2: 42-43 ) 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

a. The Christians involve in spiritual service inside the local Church.

( Romans 12:6-11 ) 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

3. IT INVOLVES THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH.

( Acts 2: 44 ) And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

( Psalms 133:1-3 )

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

4. IT INVOLVES CONSISTENT PRAYER OF CHURCH MEMBERS INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.

( Acts 1:13-15 ) 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

5. IT INVOLVES FAITHFUL WORSHIP OF THE CHURCH.

( Acts 2:46 ) And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

6. IT INVOLVES CONSISTENT EVANGELISM OF THE CHURCH IN THEIR COMMUNITY.

( Acts 5:46-47 ) 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

7. IT INVOLVES GENEROUS GIVING OF THE CHURCH TO THE LORD.

( Acts 2: 44-45 ) 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

 ( II Corinthians 8:1-5 ) 1 Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;

4 Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

* God bless you all always *
