[MM] [PREACHING LESSON 19:] THE EVIDENCE OF WALKING BY FAITH OF THE CHRISTIAN BEFORE GOD.

THE EVIDENCE OF WALKING BY FAITH OF THE CHRISTIAN BEFORE GOD.

HEBREWS 11:1 "Now faith is

the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 "(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)"

Panimula:

HEBREWS 11:32-40 "And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets:

Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

Heb 11:36 And others had trial of [cruel] mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and [in] mountains, and [in] dens and caves of the earth.

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."

(5) GREAT THINGS THAT PROVE A CHRISTIAN WALKS BY FAITH BEFORE GOD.

1. OBEDIENCE TO GOD PROVES THAT WE WALK BY FAITH BEFORE HIM.

ROMANS 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

JOHN14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

HEBREWS 11:7 “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”

HEBREWS 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

2. SEPARATION FROM THE WORLD PROVES THAT WE WALK BY FAITH BEFORE GOD.

ROMANS1:1 "Paul, a servant

of Jesus Christ, called [to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,"

2 CORINTHIANS 6:17-18 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,

2Cor 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

1 PETER 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1Pet 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

2 TIMOTHY 2:21 “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, [and] prepared unto every good work.”

3. SERVING GOD PROVES WE WALK BY FAITH BEFORE HIM.

MATTHEW 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

JOSHUA 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

EPHESIANS 2:3-4 “Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,”

JOHN 8:44 “Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

4. FOLLOWING CHRIST’S STEPS PROVES WE ARE HIS TRUE DISCIPLES.

( 1Peter 2:21 ) [21]For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

LUKE 9:23 “And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

1 PETER 2:21 “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:”

HEBREWS 11:32-40 “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets:

Heb 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

Heb 11:38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and [in] mountains, and [in] dens and caves of the earth.

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

5. ABIDING IN CHRIST PROVES THAT WE WALK BY FAITH THROUGH OUR FRUITFULNESS

JOHN 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Jn 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

JOHN 15:5 “I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

HEBREWS 11:6 “But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

* God bless you all always  *
