GOD'S
GREAT SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS TO FAITHFUL CHRISTIANS INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH
Matthew 25:21 His lord
said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been
faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou
into the joy of thy lord.
INTRODUCTION:
* God
has announced His rewards in advance to all faithful and God-fearing Christians
who stand before Him.
( 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ) [7]I have
fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
[8]Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:
and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
* The
Bible demonstrates that faithful, God-fearing Christians hold a special,
treasured place close to the heart of God.
Psalms 128:1-6 [1Blessed
is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
[2]For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:
happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
[3]Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the
sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
[4]Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that
feareth the LORD.
[5]The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou
shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
[6]Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children,
and peace upon Israel.
1. GOD'S REWARD OF BEING INTIMATE OR CLOSE RELATIONSHIP AND
FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD TO THE FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN.
God
rewards His true, faithful servants by drawing them into close fellowship and
calling them His friends.
(John 15:13-15) [13]Greater
love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
[14]Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I
command you.
[15]Henceforth I call you not servants; for the
servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all
things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
("I
have called you friends...")
God
rewards the faithful and loyal fellowship to Him is strong intimacy with God
*
Faithful Christians must spend quiet time with God daily
to nurture and grow this intimate friendship and fellowship.
*
Abraham was called to be the Friend of God.
James 2:23 ]And the
scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed
unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
II. GOD'S REWARD OF WISDOM FROM GOD AND DISCERNMENT TO
FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN WHOSE MINDS WITH GOD'S TRUTH.
(Proverbs 2:6-7) [6]For the
LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
[7]He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he
is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
* God
carefully stores up sound wisdom and discernment specifically for upright and
faithful believers.
* Faithful
Christians truly appreciate and experience the active work of the Holy Spirit
leading them into truth.
( John 16:13 ) Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he
shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come.
* The
Holy Spirit helps and guides the faithful when they do not know how to pray.
( Romans 8:26 ) Likewise
the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray
for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with
groanings which cannot be uttered.
III. GOD'S REWARD OF ETERNAL INHERITANCE AND ASSURANCE OF
HEAVENLY TREASURES AND PROMISES OF GOD TO FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN.
*(Matthew 6:20). But lay up
for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Through God’s power, believers are given everything they
need to live a godly life and escape worldly corruption.
( 2 Peter 1:1-8 ) [1]Simon
Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained
like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ:
[2]Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through
the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
[3]According as his divine power hath given unto
us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of
him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
[4]Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
[5]And beside this, giving all diligence, add to
your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
[6]And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance
patience; and to patience godliness;
[7]And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to
brotherly kindness charity.
[8]For if these things be in you, and abound, they
make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
God
promises a crown of life to those who endure trials out of deep love for Him.
(James 1:12) Blessed is
the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the
crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Divine
confirmation from God experience by the faithful Christian:
(Matthew 25:21) His lord
said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been
faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou
into the joy of thy lord.
IV.
GOD'S REWARD OF SPIRITUAL FRUITFULNESS TO THE FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN
( John 15:5 ) I am the
vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same
bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
*
By abiding in Christ, the faithful Christian directly
experiences the manifestation of the Holy Spirit's character.
( Galatians 5:22-23 ) [22]But the
fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith,
[23]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no
law.
*
An abiding life guarantees that a believer's labor in the
local church ministry will never be empty or in vain.
( I Corinthians 15:57-58 ) [57]But
thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
[58]Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye
stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye
know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
V.
GOD'S REWARD OF FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN AND LOYALTY TO GOD ARE WITH CLEAR
PRONOUNCEMENT OF APROVAL FROM GOD.
God
honors loyalty and consistency with a clear, public pronouncement of His
approval.
( Matthew 25:21,) His lord
said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been
faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou
into the joy of thy lord.
( Revelation 2:17 ) He that
hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that
overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white
stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that
receiveth it.
* Our
faith in Christ empowers us to overcome the pressures and temptations of the
world.
( 1 John 5:4-5 ) [4]For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith.
[5]Who is he that overcometh the world, but he
that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
* Ultimately,
God encompasses the life of the God-fearing Christian with complete blessings: Perfect
Protection, Provision, and Promotion.
( Psalms 128:1-6 ) [1] Blessed
is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
* God
bless you all always *
