[MM] [PREACHING LESSON 13:] WHY THE GENUINE TESTIMONY OF A CHRISTIAN MADE THE LOST PEOPLE WILL DRAW NIGH TO GOD AND BE SAVED?

WHY THE GENUINE TESTIMONY OF A CHRISTIAN MADE THE LOST PEOPLE WILL DRAW NIGH TO GOD AND BE SAVED?

( John 4:39-42 ) [39]And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

[40]So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

[41]And many more believed because of his own word;

[42]And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

THE GREAT EVIDENCE THAT THE TESTIMONIES OF SAVED PEOPLE ARE EFFECTIVE INSTRUMENTS FOR REACHING THE LOST

1. THE SAMARITAN WOMAN FROM BEING AN ADULTEROUS WOMAN AND GOT SAVED AND MANY SOULS BEING SAVED.

( John 4:4-19 ) [4]And he must needs go through Samaria.

[5]Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

[6]Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

[7]There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

[8](For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

[9]Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

[10]Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

[11]The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

[12]Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

[13]Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

[14]But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

[15]The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

[16]Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

[17]The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

[18]For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

[19]The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

2. PAUL THE CHIEF SINNERS GOT SAVED AND MANY SOULS GOT SAVED IN HIS MINISTRY.

( I Corinthians 9:19-22 ) 1Cor 9:19 For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

1Cor 9:20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

1Cor 9:21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

1Cor 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some.

3. PETER THE ONE WHO DENIED THE LORD JESUS CHRIST PREACH TO THE BIG CROWD AND 3000 SOULS GOT SAVED

( Acts 2:36-41 ) [36]Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

[37]Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

[38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[39]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

[40]And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

4. PHILIP FOUND THE EUNUCH IN THE WILLINGNESS AND WITNESS HIM AND GOT SAVED AND FOLLOWED THE LORD IN BAPTISM.

( Acts 8:26-38 ) [26]And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

[27]And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

[28]Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

[29]Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

[30]And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

[31]And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

[32]The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

[33]In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

[34]And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

[35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

[36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

[37]And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

[38]And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

5. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST FOUND 2 FISHERMANS IN THE LAKE AND WITNESS THEM AND GOT SAVED.

( Mark 1:17-20 ) [17]And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

[18]And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

[19]And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

[20]And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

6. THE TESTIMONY OF JERUSALEM CHURCH ARE POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SAVED THE MULTITUDES IN THEIR COMMUNITY.

( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

[7]And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

7. THE CHRISTLIKE TESTIMONY OF THE ANTIOCH CHURCH MADE THE HANDS OF GOD MOVE AND MANY SOULS GOT SAVED IN ANTIOCH.

( Acts 11:19-24 ) [19]Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

[20]And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

[21]And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

[22]Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

[23]Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

[24]For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
