ABRAHAM
PROVED HIS DEEP LOVE TO GOD BY GIVING HIS ONLY SON, ISAAC, WHOM HE LOVED.
Genesis 22:1-14 [1]And it
came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him,
Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
[2]And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son
Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him
there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
[3]And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and
saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and
clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of
which God had told him.
[4]Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his
eyes, and saw the place afar off.
[5]And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye
here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again
to you.
[6]And Abraham took the wood of the burnt
offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and
a knife; and they went both of them together.
[7]And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and
said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire
and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
[8]And Abraham said, My son, God will provide
himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
[9]And they came to the place which God had told
him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound
Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
[10]And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took
the knife to slay his son.
[11]And the angel of the LORD called unto him out
of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
[12]And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad,
neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God,
seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
[13]And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked,
and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went
and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his
son.
[14]And Abraham called the name of that place
Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be
seen.
*INTRODUCTION:
*
Abraham followed the example of God the Father by giving His Precious only
Begotten Son Jesus Christ to all sinners that we sinners might be saved the
bible said in
( John 3:16 ) [16]For God
so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[17]For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18]He that believeth on him is not condemned: but
he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.
6
GREAT EXPRESSIONS OF OUR LOVE TO GOD THROUGH SOUL-WINNING.
1.
PAUL GAVE HIS LIFE TO GOD WITH MUCH TEARS AND HUMBLENESS.
( Acts 20:19-24 ) [19]Serving
the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which
befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
[20]And how I kept back nothing that was
profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and
from house to house,
[21]Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the
Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
[22]And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto
Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
[23]Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every
city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
[24]But none of these things move me, neither
count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy,
and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the
gospel of the grace of God.
2. PETER GAVE HIS LIFE TO GOD BY FULFILLING THE GREAT
COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST BY SHARING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST TO MANY
LOST PEOPLE.
( Acts 2:36-41 ) Acts
2:36-41
[36]Therefore let all the house of Israel know
assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both
Lord and Christ.
[37]Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and
brethren, what shall we do?
[38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[39]For the promise is unto you, and to your
children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall
call.
[40]And with many other words did he testify and
exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
[41]Then they that gladly received his word were
baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand
souls.
3.
PHILIP GAVE HIS LIFE TO GOD BY REACHING LOST PEOPLE IN REMOTE AREA LIKE THE
EUNUCH.
( Acts 8:26-36 ) [26]And the
angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south
unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
[27]And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of
Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians,
who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to
worship,
[28]Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read
Esaias the prophet.
[29]Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and
join thyself to this chariot.
[30]And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him
read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
[31]And he said, How can I, except some man should
guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
[32]The place of the scripture which he read was
this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his
shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
[33]In his humiliation his judgment was taken
away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the
earth.
[34]And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I
pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
[35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the
same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
[36]And as they went on their way, they came unto
a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me
to be baptized?
[37]And Philip said, If thou believest with all
thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ
is the Son of God.
[38]And he commanded the chariot to stand still:
and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he
baptized him.
[39]And when they were come up out of the water,
the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and
he went on his way rejoicing.
[40]But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing
through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
4. JERUSALEM CHURCH EVANGELISED THEIR COMMUNITY INSPITES
THE GOVERNMENT HINDER THEM TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.
( Acts 5:26-29 ) [26]Then
went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they
feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
[27]And when they had brought them, they set them
before the council: and the high priest asked them,
[28]Saying, Did not we straitly command you that
ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with
your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
[29]Then Peter and the other apostles answered and
said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
5. THE ANTIOCH CHURCH WAS PERSECUTED BY THE PEOPLE AROUND
THEM BUT THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST DID THEM TO PREACH TO THE PEOPLE
AROUND THEM.
( Acts 11:19-24 ) [19]Now
they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen
travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to
none but unto the Jews only.
[20]And some of them were men of Cyprus and
Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians,
preaching the Lord Jesus.
[21]And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a
great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
[22]Then tidings of these things came unto the
ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that
he should go as far as Antioch.
[23]Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of
God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would
cleave unto the Lord.
[24]For he was a good man, and full of the Holy
Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
6. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST PROVE HIS LOVE TO GOD THE FATHER
BY FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION OF GOD.
( John 9:4-5 ) [4]I must
work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no
man can work.
[5]As long as I am in the world, I am the light of
the world.
*
LET'S WIN THE LOST AT ANY COST AND ANY PLACE AND AT ANY TIME.
* God
the Father does not want that any lost people will go to hell for ever and
ever.
( II Peter 3:9 ) The Lord is
not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is
longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.
* God
bless you all always *
