THE CLEAR
MARKS OF A CHURCH BUILD UPON THE ROCK THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, ROOTED AND
GROUNDED BEING A STRONG CHURCH.
Matthew 7:24-27 [24]Therefore whosoever heareth
these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which
built his house upon a rock:
[25]And the rain descended, and
the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not:
for it was founded upon a rock.
[26]And every one that heareth
these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man,
which built his house upon the sand:
[27]And the rain descended, and
the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and
great was the fall of it.
1. THE CHURCH BUILT UPON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO SAVE
US AND PROMISE US OF EVERLASTING LIFE.
( John 5:24 ) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He
that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life,
and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
* ( John 3:16 ) For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
2. THE CHURCH BUILT UPON THE WORD OF CHRIST THAT GAVE US
THE ASSURANCE OF OUR SALVATION.
( 1 John 5:13 ) These things have I written unto
you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(1 John 5:11-12) [11]And this is the record, that
God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
[12]He that hath the Son hath
life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
* The Word of God is the written record for giving us the assurance of
our salvation experience.
3. THE BUILT UPON THE TESTIMONY OF
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS OUR PERFECT GUIDANCE IN OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE.
( IPeter 2:1-8 ) 21For even hereunto were ye
called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye
should follow his steps:
* The 12 followed the steps of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 10:1-8 [1]And when he had called unto him
his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them
out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
[2]Now the names of the twelve
apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his
brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
[3]Philip, and Bartholomew;
Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus,
whose surname was Thaddaeus;
[4]Simon the Canaanite, and Judas
Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
[5]These twelve Jesus sent forth,
and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any
city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
[6]But go rather to the lost sheep
of the house of Israel.
[7]And as ye go, preach, saying,
The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
[8]Heal the sick, cleanse the
lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
4. THE CHURCH BUILT UPON THE VISSION
TO PLAN MORE MISSIONS ALL OVER THE WORLD.
( Acts 16:8-10 ) [8]And they passing by Mysia came
down to Troas.
[9]And a vision appeared to Paul
in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over
into Macedonia, and help us.
[10]And after he had seen the
vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering
that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
( Proverbs 29:18 ) Where there is no vision, the
people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
5. THE CHURCH BUILT UPON THE POWER
AND GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR EFFECTIVE AND FRUITFULNESS IN THE MINISTRY
OF THE LORD.
( Acts 1:8 ) But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in
Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of
the earth.
* ( John 16:13 ) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of
himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew
you things to come.
6. THE CHURCH BUILT UPON THE HOPE OF
THE SOON COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
* The followed the steps of the Lord Jesus being a good example
Christian while waiting for the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
( 1 Thessalonians
1:6-10 ) [6]And ye
became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much
affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:
* The Christians good example in their community as the light of the
World.
( Matthew 5:16 ) Let your light so shine before
men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in
heaven.
[7]So that ye were ensamples to
all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
* The Church are busy proclaiming the gospel of Christ to lost people in
our generation.
[8]For from you sounded out the
word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your
faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
[9]For they themselves shew of us
what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols
to serve the living and true God;
[10]And to wait for his Son from
heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the
wrath to come.
