 GOOD REASONS TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD NOW WHILE WE HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO DO IT.

 

( Nehemiah 4:6 ) So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

* INTRODUCTION.

a. Oh what a great encouragement in the time of Nehemiah were all the people of were united to build the wall of Jerusalem. They have the

" mind to work " the bible said.

b To have the mind to work mean every body in the congregation were of one mind and heart to accomplish the work of the Lord speedily because they have an enemy that are ready to attact and defeat them.

( John 9:4-5 ) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

c. We needs kind of people of that have the mind to work inside the local church in our time.

( Philippians 2:1-5 ) 1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

 

1. LET'S SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD BECAUSE THE MINISTRY OF LORD IS A GREAT WORK.

 

( Psalms 111:1-4 ) Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

a. The work of the Lord cannot be measure in 4 corner of our church building because the work the is for the salvation of all lost sinners in this wicked dark world.

( I Timothy 2:4 ) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

 

2. LET' SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE BECAUSE IT IS GODS WAY TO REACH AND THE LOST SINNERS.

 

( Acts 2:41 )  Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

a. Jerusalem churvh is our model in winning the lost at any cost.

( Acts 6:6-7 ) Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

 

3. LET'S SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD BECAUSE GOD GLORIFIED THROUGH OUR UNITY INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.

 

( Psalms 133:1-3 ) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

 

4. LET'S SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD THIS BECAUSE IS THE MANIFESTATION OF OUR LOVE TO HIS CHURCH.

 

( Ephesians 5: 25-27 ) 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

a. The Lord Jesus Christ is our prime example of loving the Church because He gave His life for the Church.

( Ephesians 5:25 ) Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

 

5. LET'S SUPPORT THE WORK OF THE LORD BECAUSE THE LORD THE STILL DOING GREAT THINGS IN THE MIDST OF THE CHURCH.

 

( Acts 11:21-23 ) 20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus.

21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
