 THE GREAT BENEFITS OF HAVING A SPIRITUAL REST IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.


( Mathew 11: 28 ) 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

* INTRODUCTION:

a. The Lord Jesus Christ inviting the Christian who are spiritualy tired and the best decision to make is to take a rest spiritualy but that is not mean we stop our desire to finish our goal in the ministry of the Lord.

( Psalms 37:7 ) Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

b. Taking a rest in the means is to regain strength again with purpose of accopplishing again our goal for the Lord's work.

( Psalms 111:2-3 ) The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

1. THE PROMISE OF SPIRITUAL STRENGTH IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( Ephesians 6:10 ) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

* We need the spiritual strength to be effective and fruitful in doing the work of the Lord.

 

2. THE PROMISE OF PEACE IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( Philippians4:9 ) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

* We need to have peace of to perform the work of the Lord with joy from the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

( Galatians 5:22 ) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

 

3. THE PROMISE OF PROTECTION IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( Psalms 91:1-4 ) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

* We the Hands of God to protect us from the attack of our enemy the devil.

( Ephesians 6:11-12 ) 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

 

4. THE PROMISE OF PROVISION IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( Philippians 4:19 ) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

( Malachi 3:10 ) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

* God promise to supply all our needs according to His in glory by Christ Jesus

 

5. THE PROMISE OF PROMOTION IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( I Peter 5:6 ) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

* God is always ready to give promotion to faithful Christians.

( Psalms 75:6-7 ) 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

 

6. THE PROMISE OF GODS PRESENCE IN CHRISTIAN LIFE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( Psalms 27:4 ) One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

* God fearing Christian always enjoy the presence of God in their Christian life.

 

7. PROMISE OF GODS GREAT GOODNESS EXPERIENCE WILL EXPERIENCE.

 

( Psalms 145:7-8 ) 7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.

8 The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.
