[M] [PREACHING LESSON 18:] LET US FOCUS ON GLORIFYING GOD IN OUR LIFE AND NOT IN GIVING GLORY TO THE WORLD.

 LET US FOCUS ON GLORIFYING GOD IN OUR LIFE AND NOT IN GIVING GLORY TO THE WORLD.

( I John 2:15 ) 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

* INTRODUCTION:

a. This is challenge to all Christian to focus on glorifying God in their life and not on glorifying the beauty of the World like what Lot did.

( Genesis 13:10-12 ) 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

6 Great Decision On Focussing Our Life On Glorifying God And Not On Glorifying The World.

1. BY GIVING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME TO GOD IN GLORIFYING HIM.

( Colossians 4:5 ) Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

a. Time is very precious and we need to use it for doing the things of the Lord.

( Ecclesiastes 3:1,-6 ) 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

2. BY GIVING YOUR TRUTHFULNESS TO GOD IN GLORIFYING HIM.

( Philippians 4:8 ) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

a. Christians should always be sincere and serious to do what is right in the eyes of the Lord and not what pleasing to ourselves but not acceptable to God.

3. BY GIVING YOUR TRUST TO GOD IN GLORIFYING HIM.

( Proverbs 3:5 ) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

( Psalms 37:3-5 ) 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

4. BY GIVING YOUR TREASURE TO GOD IN GLORIFYING HIM.

( II Corinthians 9:6-8 )  6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

5. BY GIVING YOUR TROUBLES IN LIFE TO GOD IN GLORIFYING.

( 1 Peter 4:13-16 ) But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

a. In times of troubles and discouragement God is always with us to comfort us and help us even in our hopless situation.

( II Corinthians 1:4-10 ) 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

6. BY GIVING YOUR TALENT TO GOD IN GLORIFYING.

( Romans 12:6-11 ) Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

a. God gave the Christians several talents that may use it in doing the Ministry of the Lord for our faithful service to Him

* God bless you all always *
