MARKS OF A
CHRISTIAN WHO ARE ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN THE WORD OF GOD.
(Ephesians 3:16-21) [16]That he
would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with
might by his Spirit in the inner man;
[17]That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
[18]May be able to comprehend with all saints what
is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
[19]And to know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
[20]Now unto him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh
in us,
[21]Unto him be glory in the church by Christ
Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
1.
THEY ARE STRONG CHRISTIANS INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.
* ( Ephesians 6:10-14 ) [10]Finally,
my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[11]Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[12]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[13]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of
God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand.
[14]Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15]And your feet shod with the preparation of the
gospel of peace;
[16]Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17]And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
[18]Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
2.
THEY ARE SPIRITUAL CHRISTIAN INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.
( II Timothy 2:21 ) If a man
therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
3. THEY ARE SUPPORTIVE CHRISTIANS INSIDE THE LOCAL
CHURCH.
( Ephesians 4:11-16 ) [11]And he
gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some,
pastors and teachers;
[12]For the perfecting of the saints, for the work
of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13]Till we all come in the unity of the faith,
and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of
the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14]That we henceforth be no more children, tossed
to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of
men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
[15]But speaking the truth in love, may grow up
into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
[16]From whom the whole body fitly joined together
and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual
working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the
edifying of itself in love.
4. THEY ARE SOULWINNING CHRISTIANS INSIDE THE LOCAL
CHURCH.
( I Corinthians 9:19-22 ) [19]For
though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I
might gain the more.
[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I
might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I
might gain them that are under the law;
[21]To them that are without law, as without law,
(being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain
them that are without law.
[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might
gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save
some.
* The
Jerusalem church is an example Church in soulwinning.
( Acts 2:46-47 ) [46]And
they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from
house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
[47]Praising God, and having favour with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
5. THEY ARE SUBMISSIVE CHRISTIANS INSIDE THE LOCAL
CHURCH.
( James 4:6-10 ) [6]But he
giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth
grace unto the humble.
[7]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the
devil, and he will flee from you.
[8]Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
[9]Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your
laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[10]Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,
and he shall lift you up.
6.
THEY ARE SINCERE CHRISTIANS INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.
( Philippians 1: 16-17 ) [16]The one
preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my
bonds:
[17]But the other of love, knowing that I am set
for the defence of the gospel.
* God
bless you all always *
