[LL] [PREACHING LESSON 3:] SOME BIBLICAL MODELS IN RESCUE THE PERISHING OF LOST PEOPLE

SOME BIBLICAL MODELS IN RESCUE THE PERISHING OF LOST PEOPLE

Proverbs 24:11-12 Prov 24:11 If thou forbear to deliver [them that are] drawn unto death, and [those that are] ready to be slain;

Prov 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider [it]? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth [not] he know [it]? and shall [not] he render to [every] man according to his works?

1. GOD THE FATHER IS OUR GREAT MODEL.

* God’s greatest concern for the lost people not to perish in everlasting hell fire.

( 2 Peter 3:9 ) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

* God’s great desire that all lost people might be saved.

( I Timothy 2:4 ) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

* God’s serious commandment to all God’s people.

( Jude 1:23 ) And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

2. THE GREAT REASON FOR THE LORD JESUS CHRIST TO COME DOWN ON THE PLANET IS TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST.

( Luke 19:10 ) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

* Christ is our prime model on winning the lost at any cost and at any time.

( John 9:4-5 ) [4]I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

[5]As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

* The Lord Jesus Christ is our model of having burden for lost people.

( Matthew 9:35-36 ) [35]And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

[36]But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

3. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR PARTNER IN WINNING LOST PEOPLE.

( Acts 1:8 ) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

* The Holy Spirit will give us the power and wisdom to the lost people effectively and successfully.

( John 16:13 ) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

* The Holy Spirit will guide us to the right people whose heart are open to hear the message of the gospel of Christ.

( Acts 8:30-36 ) [30]And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

[31]And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

[32]The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

[33]In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

[34]And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

[35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

[36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

4. PAUL ALSO IS OUR GOOD MODEL IN WINNING LOST PEOPLE.

( I Corinthians 9:19-22 ) [19]For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

[21]To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

* Paul made the Lord Jesus Christ as his pattern of dedication of loving and winning lost people and finished his calling.

* ( Acts 20:24 ) But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

5. PETER IS ALSO A GOOD MODEL IN WINNING LOST PEOPLE.

( Acts 2: 36-41 ) [36]Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

[37]Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

[38]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[39]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

[40]And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

[41]Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

* Peter led Jerusalem Church to be a faithful and fruitful soulwinning Church.

( Acts 5:26-29 [26]Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

[27]And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

[28]Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

[29]Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

* Peter led Jerusalem Church to be a soulwinning and a fruitful Church in their time.

( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

[7]And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

* Conclusion:

* The Lord Jesus Christ encourage His disciples to look on the fields for they are white already to harvest.

( John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

* God bless you all always *
