CBBC: LET US MAKE A COLLECTIVE EFFORT IN
2026 TO ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD
Introduction
As we
stand at the gates of 2026, we are not merely entering a new calendar year; we
are stepping into a fresh season of divine opportunity. The Apostle Paul’s
exhortation in 1 Corinthians 15:58 serves as our spiritual compass. In a world
that often feels shaky and uncertain, God calls the members of CBBC to be "stedfast
and unmoveable." But our calling does not stop at standing still. We are
commanded to be "always abounding." To abound is to
"overflow"—to do more than what is required and to reach further than
we did yesterday. This is a call for a Collective Effort. No single person can
carry the harvest alone, but together, as a body moving in one accord, we can
see the "White Fields" of our community transformed by the power of
the Gospel. Let us examine the five-fold vision that will define our labor in
the Lord this year.
(1 Corinthians 15:58) – "Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the
Lord."
I. THIS
IS BIBLICAL CHALLENGE FROM THE WORD OF THE LORD TO ALWAYS ABOUNDING IN THE WORK
OF THE LORD
God
designs the Christians to be always producing bountiful fruits in His church.
Acts 2:41 – "Then
they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were
added [unto them] about three thousand souls."
II.
THIS IS BOLD DECISION OF THE LOCAL CHURCH AT CORINTH TO DO MORE IN THE MINISTRY
OF THE LORD
"...always
abounding in the work of the Lord..."
The
work of the Lord is great and honorable.
Psalms 111:2-4 – "The
works of the Lord [are] great, sought out of all them that have pleasure
therein. His work [is] honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth
for ever. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord [is]
gracious and full of compassion."
III. THIS IS BIG VISION OF THE CHURCH TO REACH MORE LOST
SINNERS IN 2026
John 4:35 – "Say
not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say
unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already
to harvest."
IV.
THIS IS BOUND TO DYNAMIC GROWTH OF THE CHURCH
Acts 6:6-7 – "Whom
they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid [their] hands
on them. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples
multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were
obedient to the faith."
V.
THIS IS BLESSING SPIRITUAL TO THE LOCAL CHURCH
Acts 2:45-47 – "And
sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man
had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and
singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And
the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
Conclusion:
The
beauty of the work we do at CBBC is found in its shelf-life: it is never in
vain. While the world’s efforts eventually fade, every soul reached, every
prayer offered, and every act of service rendered in the name of Jesus carries
an eternal weight of glory.
As we
commit to these five pillars—Challenge, Decision, Vision, Growth, and
Blessing—let us do so with "singleness of heart." 2026 can be the
year we witness the "dynamic growth" and "daily additions"
seen in the early church, provided we remain rooted in the Lord’s strength. May
we leave this place today not just as hearers of the Word, but as laborers ready
for the field. The harvest is ready, the mandate is clear, and the reward is
certain.
Let us
abound together!
