[KK] [PREACHING LESSON 1:] GOD IS NOT YET FINISHED, HE IS STILL WORKING IN YOUR LIFE

GOD IS NOT YET FINISHED, HE IS STILL WORKING IN YOUR LIFE

(Ephesians 2:10) "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Introduction:

* God declares that He continues to work in the lives of Christians after every believer has been saved through faith in Christ.

* Jesus Christ is the model used by God the Father to shape our spiritual lives into a beautiful testimony of Christ.

5 Important Things God Is Doing in the Life of a Christian

I. GOD IS STILL SHAPING YOUR LIFE LIKE CHRIST

* The life of the Lord Jesus is the perfect model of God the Father for every Christian.

(Ephesians 2:10) "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

* It was possible for Paul to live out Christ in his life, and it is also possible for you.

(Galatians 2:20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

* The Word of God is His effective instrument for this shaping.

* All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness so that the man of God may be perfect and equipped for good works.

(2 Timothy 3:16) All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Tim 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

II. GOD IS STILL STRENGTHENING YOU LIKE CHRIST

* We need to be strong because our spiritual enemy is always ready to hinder us from continuing our Christian life.

(Philippinas 4:13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

* Believers are encouraged to be strong in the Lord and to put on the whole armor of God to stand against the wiles of the devil.

(Ephesians 6:10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

* Jesus Christ is our example of being strong and steadfast during times of temptation.

(Matthew 4:3) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

III. GOD IS STILL SUPPORTING YOU LIKE CHRIST

* The Holy Spirit is God’s best help in our Christian life.

(John 14:16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Jn 14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

* The Holy Spirit helps us understand the will of the entire truth and guides us into all truth.

* The Holy Spirit provides the full power to be fruitful and effective in our service to God.

Jn 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

* Believers receive power through the Holy Ghost to be witnesses unto Christ to the ends of the earth.

(Acts 1:8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

IV. GOD IS STILL SANCTIFYING YOU LIKE CHRIST

* The Lord Jesus is our perfect model of holiness.

(John 17:17) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

* God expects holiness in every aspect of our lives, just as Christ is holy.

(John 17:19) And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

* As He who called you is holy, you are commanded to be holy in all your conduct.

(1 Peter 1:15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1Pet 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

V. GOD IS STILL SATISFYING YOU LIKE CHRIST

* God provides satisfaction and shows His salvation.

(Psalms 91:16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

* King David was satisfied with the Lord, stating, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want".

(Psalms 23:1) The Lord [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.

* Faithful Christians are satisfied by many blessings from God.

* A faithful man shall abound with blessings.

(Proverbs 28:20) A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

Conclusion:

God is not yet finished with your life; He is still shaping your life in Christ Jesus. We remain His workmanship, created for the good works He ordained for us.

(Ephesians 2:10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
