[K] [PREACHING LESSON 20:] GREAT AND GOOD MARKS OF A CHEERFUL GIVER CHRISTIAN

GREAT AND GOOD MARKS OF A CHEERFUL GIVER CHRISTIAN

.( II Corinthians 9:6-7 )

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

1. THEY GIVE BASE IN THEIR LOVE TO THE LORD.( V.7 )

(II Corinthians 8:7-8 ) 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

( John 14:15 ) 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

2. THEY GIVE BASE ON THEIR OBIDIENCE TO GOD.

( Malachi 3:10-12 ) Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

3. THEY GIVE BASE ON THEIR WILLINGNESS & READINESS OF THEIR MIND & HEART.

( 2 Corinthians 8: 11-12 ) Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

4. THEY GIVE BASE ON THEIR FAITH TO GOD.

( II Corinthians 8:5 )  And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

5. THEY GIVE BASE ON THE GRACE OF GOD IN THEIR LIFE.

( II Corinthians 8:7-9) Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

a. Giving base on the example of the Lord Jesus Christ.

* God bless you always *
