PSALMS
133:1-3 “Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to
dwell together in unity!
Pss 133:2 [It is] like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon
the beard, [even] Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
Pss 133:3 As the dew of Hermon, [and as the dew] that descended upon the
mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, [even] life for
evermore.”
Introduction:
a.
The Word of God is our compass so that we as a church can
reach or achieve our goal for this year.
Ø Compass – the one that gives right direction or
follow through.
b.
The Christian needs the perfect guidance, the Holy Spirit
and the Word of God to help us reach our goal.
Now let us
examine some biblical guidelines that we need to know:
I. THE UNITY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH IS IMPORTANT
(Ang pagkakaisa ng lokal na iglesya ay mahalaga.)
PSALMS 133:1 “Behold,
how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
a.
God was the first to be attracted to the unity of the
church and gave good comments.
PSALMS 133:1 “Behold,
how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
b.
The unity of the church is clear evidence of the strong
faith of the church to face the challenge of building our balcony for this
year.
c.
The unity in prayer of the people of God brought them the
victory to build the wall of Jerusalem.
NEHEMIAH 4:9 “Nevertheless
we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night,
because of them.”
Ø The unity of
the church is very important to assure the success of our building construction
project.
II.
THE SPIRITUALITY
OF THE LOCAL CHURCH IS IMPORTANT
(Ang kabanalan ng lokal na iglesya ay mahalaga)
2TIMOTHY 2:21 “If a
man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, [and] prepared unto every good work.”
a.
God will not use an unclean vessel to do the honorable and
holy work of God.
PSALMS 111:2-3 “The
works of the Lord [are] great, sought out of all them that have pleasure
therein.
Pss 111:3 His work [is] honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth
for ever.”
b.
God uses His righteous servants for His glory.
ROMANS 12:1-2 “I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your
reasonable service.
Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of God.”
c.
Having a sanctified life is essential to ensure that our
prayers are answered and even in effective soulwinning.
1PETER 3:12, 15 “For the
eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their
prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
1Pet 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God
in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”
III.
THE SINCERITY
OF THE LOCAL CHURCH IS IMPORTANT
(Ang katapatan ng lokal
na iglesya ay mahalaga)
PHILIPPIANS 1:16-17 “The one
preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my
bonds:
Php 1:17 But the other of love, knowing
that I am set for the defence of the gospel.”
a.
Sincere – whole-hearted,
genuine concern
b.
Paul encountered many unfaithful Christians in his day. He
thinks they will protect the ministry while he was imprisoned but the insincere
Christians adds to the suffering in the work of the Lord.
PHILIPPIANS 1:16 “The one
preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my
bonds:”
c.
Sincere Christians are people who are very spiritual and
show their love for the work of the Lord and their heart is set for the defense
of the gospel.
PHILIPPIANS 1:17 “But the
other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.”
IV.
THE
AVAILABILITY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH IS IMPORTANT
(Ang pagkakaroon ng isang lokal na iglesya ay
mahalaga.)
ACTS 1:14-15 “These
all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and
Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and
said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)”
a.
Being always available
to the work of the Lord is a key to making sure we reach our goal of building our
balcony this year.
b.
Being available
is proof that you care about what’s going on in our church.
c.
Being
available shows that you love the church just as Christ proves His love for His
church.
EPHESIANS 5:25 “Husbands,
love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”
V.
THE ABILITY OF
THE LOCAL CHURCH IS IMPORTANT
(Ang kakayahan ng lokal
na simbahan ay mahalaga.)
MARK 2:1-5 “And again he entered into Capernaum after [some] days; and
it was noised that he was in the house.
Mk 2:2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no
room to receive [them], no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the
word unto them.
Mk 2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne
of four.
Mk 2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered
the roof where he was: and when they had broken [it] up, they let down the bed
wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
Mk 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy
sins be forgiven thee.”
Conclusion:
These four
soulwinners are good examples of perfect unity in the church to accomplish their
goal. They were very sincere and made themselves available to bring the palsy
man to Christ and share their ability just for one soul to be saved.
God bless you
all!
