PAUL' S GOOD EXAMPLE IN SERVING THE LORD

( II Cor. 4:1-5 )

1. HE SERVE THE LORD WITH COMMITMENT.

( V. 1) 1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

a. Paul's commitment serving the Lord show he was defenfend on Gods Mercry in he will big challenge of trouble while serving God.

( Lamentation 3:22 ) It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

b. Pauls commitment is serving God never change even thou there is threat in his life to hinder him to continue his commitment in serving God.

( Acts 20: 21-24 ) 21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

2. HE SERVE THE LORD WITH CONSISTENCY.

( V. 2) 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

a. Pauls challenge the Christians to continue to the good work they started in serving the Lord.

( Philippians 1:6 ) 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

b. Let's continue and finish till Jesus comes back.

( Mathew 24:45-47 ) 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

3. HE SERVE THE LORD WITH CONCERN.

( V. 3 )  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

a. Pauls concern for the lost in his deep pray for the fellow Isralites to be saved.

( Romans 10:1 ) 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

b. The Lord Jesus Christ is our prime example of have concern for the salvation of lost sinners. ( Matthew 9:36 ) 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

4. HE SERVE THE LORD WITH COURAGE.

( V. 4 ) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

a. One of the clear marks of  Paul and the early Christian in serving the Lord are their being being courageous in serving the Lord.

( Acts 5:27-29 ) And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

b. The bordness preaching the gospel of was their clear mark that the Lord Jesus Christ their  master teacher.

( Acts 4:13 ) 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

5. HE SERVE THE LORD WITH CHRIST CENTERED

( V. 5 ) 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

a. Paul preach only the Name of Christ and no other. They do not preach themselves but the Name of Christ only. Big Amen and amen!!!

b  Philip also share only the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ to the eunuch.

( Acts 8: 34-35 ) And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

b. There is no other name given under heaven but in the Name of Christ only.

( Acts4:10-12 ) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

* ( Romans 1:16 ) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

* God bless you always *
