[JJ] [PREACHING LESSON 17:] WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE TO GO SOUL-WINNING EVERY SINGLE DAY?

WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE TO GO SOUL-WINNING EVERY SINGLE DAY?

( John 9:4-5 ) [4]I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

[5]As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

INTRODUCTION:

The Lord Jesus Christ is our prime model. He viewed His mission with a sense of "divine necessity" ("I must work"). He utilized every encounter—whether at a well, a dinner table, or on the road—to point people to the Father.

The Jerusalem Church followed the example of the Lord Jesus Christ in winning lost people every single day. They did not limit witnessing to a weekly service; they taught "daily in the temple, and in every house" (Acts 5:42).

Acts 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Their obedience was rooted in a commitment to God that superseded the fear of man (Acts 5:29).

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Great Reasons Why Christians Should Go Soul-Winning Every Day.

1. BECAUSE GOD PREPARES THE SOULS OF THE LOST TO BE SAVED EVERY DAY.

( Luke 19:8-9 ) [8]And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

[9]And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

God is already working in hearts before we even arrive (e.g., Zacchaeus in the sycamore tree).

Salvation is a present-tense need; Jesus said, "This day is salvation come to this house."

Many are seeking a change in their lives and are waiting for someone to show them the way.

2. BECAUSE WE LOVE TO SEE AND REJOICE OVER SOULS BEING SAVED DAILY.

( Luke 15:3-7 ) [3]And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

[4]What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

[5]And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

[6]And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

[7]I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

If the angels in heaven rejoice over one sinner, we should participate in that joy as often as possible.

Like the man seeking the lost sheep, our focus should be on the one who is missing from the fold.

There is no greater spiritual "high" than being the instrument God uses to bring someone to Christ.

3. BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL OPEN AND READY TO HEAR THE GOSPEL.

( Acts 2:41 ) Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

As seen in Acts 2:41, thousands are ready to "gladly receive" the Word when it is preached.

While some reject the Gospel, many are simply waiting to be asked.

Every day provides a new "window of opportunity" to find those whose hearts are softened by life's circumstances.

4. BECAUSE THE HOLY SPIRIT IS ALWAYS READY TO GUIDE SOULWINNERS.

( Acts 8:30-36 ) [30]And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

[31]And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

[32]The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

[33]In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

[34]And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

[35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

[36]And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

[37]And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

[38]And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

[39]And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Like Philip, we must be "in tune" to hear the Spirit say, "Go near, and join thyself to this chariot."

Many people are reading or searching (like the Eunuch) but need a guide to explain the Truth.

Going daily increases our "surface area" for the Holy Spirit to orchestrate "random" encounters that are actually divine setups.

5. BECAUSE SO MANY PRECIOUS SOULS ARE NOW “WHITE ALREADY” FOR HARVEST.

( John 4:35 ) Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

Jesus warned against saying "four months more"; the need is immediate.

If a crop is not harvested when it is ripe, it rots. Souls that are ready today may be hardened by tomorrow.

Daily soul-winning forces us to look past our own problems and see the spiritual hunger in the world around us.

6. BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY FOR THE CHURCH TO EXPERIENCE DYNAMIC GROWTH.

( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

[7]And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Growth happens when leadership and the congregation commit to the Gospel over mere programs (Acts 6:4).

Daily witnessing leads to daily additions, which eventually leads to the "multiplication" of disciples.

A growing church creates a "godly momentum" that can reach even the most unlikely people, including the "great company of priests."

7. BECAUSE THERE IS A DAILY APPOINTMENT FOR LOST PEOPLE TO DIE

Every day, thousands step into eternity; for many, it is a step into judgment.

( Hebrews 9:27 ) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

We are called to "pull them out of the fire." Soul-winning is a spiritual search-and-rescue operation.

( Jude 1:23 ) And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Realizing that hell is a real, eternal destination provides the necessary "holy fear" to keep us motivated.

8. BECAUSE IT IS CHRIST’S PRAYER AND DESIRE THAT ALL LOST PEOPLE BE SAVED.

God "will have all men to be saved"; when we soul-win, we are in the center of His perfect will.

( I Timothy 2:4 ) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Every day the Lord delays His return is another day of His mercy, giving us time to reach the lost.

( II Peter 3:9 ) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Because God wants "all" to be saved, we should not discriminate in who we approach, regardless of their background or sins.

God the Father does not want that any should perish in hell fire forever and ever.

* God bless you all always*
