WHAT THE BIBLE MEANS BY “LIVING FROM FAITH
TO FAITH” IN YOUR CHRISTIAN LIFE.
(2 Corinthians 5:7) [7](For we
walk by faith, not by sight:)
* INTRODUCTION:
a. A very short
Bible verse, but with a sincere reminder and commandments to Christians to live
by faith and "from faith to faith."
* ( Romans 1:17 ) For therein
is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.
* ( Hebrews 11:6-8 ) [6]But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
[7]By faith Noah, being warned of
God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving
of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the
righteousness which is by faith.
[8]By faith Abraham, when he was
called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance,
obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
1. IT IS A
WALK SEPARATED FROM THOSE WHO ARE UNEQUALLY YOKED WITH UNBELIEVERS.
( II Corinthians 6:14 ) Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness?
* ( II Corinthians 6:17-18 ) [17] Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the
unclean thing; and I will receive you,
[18]And will be a Father unto you,
and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2. IT IS A
WALK SINCERELY TO GLORIFY GOD IN THE LIVES OF THE CHRISTIANS
(Philippians 1:12-17) [12]But I
would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me
have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
[13]So that my bonds in Christ are
manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
[14]And many of the brethren in the
Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word
without fear.
[15]Some indeed preach Christ even
of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
[16]The one preach Christ of
contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
[17]But the other of love, knowing
that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
3. IT IS
WALK WITH A SPIRITUAL DESIRE TO KNOW THE LORD GOD IN YOUR LIFE.
(Philippians 3:8-10) [8]Yea
doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge
of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and
do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
[9]And be found in him, not having
mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the
faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
[10]That I may know him, and the
power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made
conformable unto his death;
4. IS A
WALK WITH MUCH SUPPORT FOR THE WORK OF THE LORD IN MISSION PLANTING IN THE
REGION BEYONDS.
( Philippians 4:15-16 ) [15]Now ye
Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed
from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and
receiving, but ye only.
[16]For even in Thessalonica ye sent
once and again unto my necessity
5. IT IS
WALK WITH SACRIFICE FACING LIFE’S TRIALS WITH CONFIDENCE IN THE GRACE OF GOD.
( I Peter 5:10 ) But the God
of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle
you.
( Philippians 4:13 ) I can do all
things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
6. IT IS A
WALK WITH LOVE AND SUPPORT TO FULFILL THE COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
( Mathew 28:19-20 ) [19]Go ye
therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[20]Teaching them to observe all
things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto
the end of the world. Amen.
7. IT IS A
WALK WITH GREAT HOPE FOR THE SOON-COMING
OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
( Titus 2:13 ) Looking for
that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour
Jesus Christ;
