WHY MOST LOST PEOPLE IGNORE AND ARE NOT
INTERESTED IN THE PREACHING OF HELL?
(MATTHEW 10:28) "And
fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but
rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
a. This is an
honest observation: that most lost people ignore and disregard the teaching of
hell from the Word of God.
b. But even
though they ignore and disregard the doctrine of hell, they cannot change the
truth of the Bible that hell is real. They cannot change their sure destiny of
going to hell because the Bible says the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to
heaven and the only way to escape going to hell.
(JOHN 14:6) "Jesus
saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me."
Five (5) reasons
why lost people ignore and disregard teaching about hell:
1. BECAUSE
THEY DO NOT KNOW THE BIBLE.
(JOHN 8:32) "And ye
shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
This first reason
is very true; lost people ignore this important truth for lack of knowledge
from the Word of God. Now is the important time for Christians to be ready to
share the gospel of Christ.
(1 PETER 3:15) "But
sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to
every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and
fear:"
(ROMANS 10:14) "How
then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they
believe in whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a
preacher?"
2. BECAUSE
LOST PEOPLE WILL NOT CHOOSE TO HEAR THE SCARY AND HORRIBLE TEACHING OF HELL,
BUT RATHER THINGS WHICH ARE GOOD FOR THEIR EARS.
(2 TIMOTHY 4:3-4) "For
the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their
own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; v.4: And
they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto
fables."
This is now a
true experience: lost people refute the right doctrine of hell.
3. BECAUSE
LOST PEOPLE WERE DECEIVED BY FALSE TEACHERS.
(2 CORINTHIANS 11:13-15) "For
such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the
apostles of Christ. v.14: And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into
an angel of light. v.15: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also
be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according
to their works."
The devil was
very successful in brainwashing his followers and deceiving them.
4. BECAUSE
LOST PEOPLE, MOST OF THEM DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THERE IS LIFE AFTER DEATH.
(LUKE 16:19-24) [Scripture regarding the Rich Man and Lazarus].
The Bible tells
us that there is life after death. Souls of men after death will perish in hell
forever and ever. The 5 senses of the souls of men are still present even
during judgment in hell.
(HEBREWS 9:27) "And as
it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"
5. BECAUSE
LOST PEOPLE ENJOY MUCH OF THEIR GOOD LIFE ON EARTH AND ARE NOT INTERESTED IN
HEARING THE TEACHING ABOUT HELL.

What a sad truth
and reality that most lost people ignore and disregard the reality of hell.
This is really a very sad reality and an honest observation.
