[J] [PREACHING LESSON 8:] SOME IMPORTANT BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR EFFECTIVE SOULWINNING

(Ilang mahahalagang batayan sa Bibliya para sa mabisang pag-aakay ng kaluluwa)

ACTS 2:47 “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

ACTS 5:42 “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”

Introduction:

a.    The Bible is very clear in giving us effective guidance in fruitful soulwinning drive of the church.

b.    Jerusalem church is a good model for effective and very fruitful soulwinning in their community. The 120 members of the church showed unity in winning the lost in their community and about 3000 precious souls were saved and baptized.

ACTS 2:41 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added [unto them] about three thousand souls.”

Four (4) important biblical principles for effective soulwinning drive:

I. THE SINCERE UNITED PRAYER OF THE CHURCH IS IMPORTANT

(Ang taos-pusong nagkakaisang pananalangin ng iglesya ay mahalaga)

ACTS 1:14-15 “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Acts 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)”

a.    The Jerusalem local church is a good example of united prayer for the salvation of many people in their community and this has resulted in 3000 thousand souls being saved and following the waters of baptism.

b.    Paul set a good example by praying earnestly to his fellow Israelites that they would be saved.

ROMANS 10:1 “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.”

II. THE SPIRITUALITY OF THE SOULWINNER IS VERY IMPORTANT

(Ang kabanalan ng tagapag-akay ng kaluluwa ay napakahalaga)

1PETER 3:15 “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”

a.    God will never use a dirty vessel for His work.

2TIMOTHY 2:21 “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, [and] prepared unto every good work.”

b.     God will always bless the spiritual soulwinner with the many fruits of the saved soul.

1CORINTHIANS 9:19 “For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.”

III. THE SUBMISSIVE ATTITUDE TO THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

(Ang nagpapasakop na saloobin sa pamumuno ng Banal na Espiritu.)

ACTS 8:29-30, 35 “Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
Acts 8:30 And Philip ran thither to [him], and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.”

a.    Paul was very submissive to the leading of the Holy Spirit to win the Ethiopian eunuch.

b.    Philip opened his mouth and preached Christ to this Ethiopian eunuch and was saved.

ACTS 8:37 “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

IV. THE SOULWINNER’S TEAMWORK IN SOULWINNING IS IMPORTANT

(Ang pagtutulungan ng soulwinner sa soulwinning ay mahalaga)

MARK 2:3-5 “And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
Mk 2:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken [it] up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
Mk 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

a.    The four soulwinners show their unity in one palsy man brought to Christ.

b.    The auditoriums were full of people and could not pass through the main door, the four soulwinners were flexible and gave their hearts and abilities to bring the palsy man to Christ and be saved.

MARK 2:5 “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

CONCLUSION:

If we follow the biblical guidelines in soulwinning we can assure great harvest of soul.

PSALMS 126:5-6 “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Pss 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].”

GOD BLESS YOU ALL
