[J] [PREACHING LESSON 15:] SOME GREAT MARKS FROM GOD’S WORD THAT YOU ARE A GENUINE CHRISTIAN

(Ang ilang magagandang marka mula sa Salita ng Diyos na ikaw ay isang tunay na Kristiyano.)

HEBREWS 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

2CORINTHIANS 5:7 “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”

Introduction:

a.    It is possible for us to know the true Christian and the non-Christian according to their lifestyle of faith.

HEBREWS 11:32-34, 39 “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets:
Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Heb 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:”

b.    Walking or living by faith is in accordance with the teaching of God's Word, so it is the proof of being a TRUE Christian.

Five (5) Great Truths That Prove A Genuine Christian:

I. OBEDIENCE PROVES SONSHIP

(Ang pagsunod ay nagpapatunay ng pagiging anak )

ROMANS 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

a.    Getting started with God is a matter of faith.

JOHN 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

b.    Noah obeyed God's command to build a big ark.

HEBREWS 11:7 “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”

c.     Abraham obeyed God wholeheartedly without complaint even though he did not know where he was going.

HEBREWS 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”

II. SEPARATION PROVES SAINTSHIP

(Ang paghihiwalay ay nagpapatunay na isang banal)

ROMANS 1:1 “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called [to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,”

2CORINTHIANS 6:17-18 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
2Cor 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

a.    Holy God has strictly commanded Christians to be holy in all conduct.

1PETER 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1Pet 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

b.    God will only use the Christian if we are to be sanctified.

2TIMOTHY 2:21 “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, [and] prepared unto every good work.”

III. SERVICE PROVES WE ARE THE LORD’S

(Pinapatunayan ng paglilingkod na tayo ay sa Panginoon)

MATTHEW 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

a.    Those who belongs to God serves God.

JOSHUA 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

b.    Those who are not of God do not serve God.

EPHESIANS 2:3-4 “Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,”

c.     Those who are not saved are called children of the devil the bible says.

JOHN 8:44 “Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

IV. FOLLOWING PROVES DISCIPLESHIP

(Ang pagsunod ay nagpapatunay ng pagiging alagad )

LUKE 9:23 “And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

a.    Following in the footsteps of Christ is proof that they are disciples of Christ Jesus.

1PETER 2:21 “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:”

b.    The step of faith is a step with complete success.

c.     Our obedience to Christ Jesus is proof of our true Christian identity.

JOHN 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

V. ABIDING IN CHRIST PROVES UNION WITH HIM

(Ang pagsunod kay Cristo ay nagpapatunay ng pagkikiisa sa Kanya)

JOHN 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Jn 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

HEBREWS 11:6 “But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

God bless you all
