[J] [PREACHING LESSON 11:] THE GREAT IMPACT OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ON OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE

(Ang malaking epekto ng Panginoong Hesukristo sa buhay ng Kristiyano.)

PHILIPPIANS 1:21 “For to me to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain.”

Introduction:

a.    Impact – means strike forcefully, direct effect.

b.    The Lord Jesus after His baptism He led His church and lived with His disciples for three long years which is why His life has a great impact on the lives of His disciples. They saw Jesus in a great Bible Study. They were with Jesus in feeding 5,000 hungry people. They saw Jesus healing the sick and giving life to the dead.

c.     They even saw Jesus walking on the sea and even Peter is urged to walk as Jesus did.

JOHN 6:19-20 “So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
Jn 6:20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.”

Five (5) great things on the impact of Christ to Christian:

Jn 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.”

a.    The Lord Jesus Christ spoke these words about the worship of God the Father in spirit and in truth and this is the worship of the true worshiper of God.

b.    The church in Jerusalem follows the step of the Lord Jesus Christ in daily worship of God in the church.

ACTS 2:46-47 “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Mt 26:40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
Mt 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.”

a.    The Lord Jesus Christ is our prime example for the importance of praying always.

Lk 10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Lk 10:4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Lk 10:5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace [be] to this house.
Lk 10:6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
Lk 10:7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Lk 10:8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
Lk 10:9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

Jn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

V. CHRIST’S RETURN FOR HIS CHURCH HAS A GREAT IMPACT

(Ang pagbabalik ni Kristo para sa Kanyang iglesya ay isang malaking epekto)

TITUS 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”

a.    It is a great hope that encourages them to live a pure life while waiting for His coming.

1JOHN 3:1-2 “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

b.    This is a great motivation for them to faithful while waiting for His coming.

Mt 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

CONCLUSION:

The life of Christ had a great impact on Paul.

GALATIANS 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

GOD BLESS YOU ALL
