WHAT IF
THE CHURCH WILL NOT STOP PRAYING ON THE THRONE OF GRACE OF GOD?
(HEBREWS 4:16) "Let us therefore come boldly
unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in
time of need."
Introduction:
a. Christ encourages His disciples to
pray always.
(LUKE 18:1) "And he spake a parable unto
them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;"
b. Paul encouraged Christians to pray
without ceasing.
(1 THESSALONIANS
5:17) "Pray
without ceasing."
I. GREAT SUPPLY FROM GOD DO NOT STOP
(PHILIPPIANS 4:19) "But my God shall supply all
your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus"
a. Jabez had prayed always and God
granted all his prayer request.
(1 CHRONICLES 4:10) "And Jabez called on the God
of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast,
and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil,
that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
b. God promise in Jeremiah 33:3 those
Christian who continue praying and claim God's promise in His precious will
expect multiple answers from their nonstop praying.
(JEREMIAH 33:3) "Call unto me, and I will
answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest
not."
c. A lifestyle of continuous prayer
ensures that believers tap into the inexhaustible storehouse of divine
provision instead of relying on limited human resources.
II. GREAT PROTECTION FROM GOD DO NOT
STOP
(PSALMS 91:1-5) "He that dwelleth in the
secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I
will say of the Lord, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I
trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from
the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his
wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler. 5 Thou
shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth
by day;"
a. God being our good spiritual Father
in heaven is always ready to help and protect His dear Children from harm. He
never sleeps nor slumber just to see all His Children are in safe situation.
(PSALMS 126:4-7) "Behold, he that keepeth
Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is
thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the
moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve
thy soul."
b. Constant prayer acts as an active
shield, maintaining the believer's secure standing under the shadow of the
Almighty against daily trials and spiritual dangers.
III. GREAT VICTORY OVER OUR ENEMY THE
DEVIL DO NOT STOP
(1 JOHN 4:4) "Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the
day of Jesus Christ:"
a. The Lord Jesus Christ is the source
of our victory.
(1 CORINTHIANS
15:57) "But
thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus
Christ."
b. God will give us perfect strength in
order to face our spiritual enemy the Devil.
(EPHESIANS 6:10-12) "Finally, my brethren, be
strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour
of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places."
c. Persevering prayer keeps the church
equipped with spiritual armor, ensuring unbroken triumph over every opposing
force of darkness.
IV. GREAT HARVEST OF PRECIOUS SOULS
DO NOT STOP
(ACTS 2:41) "Then they that gladly
received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them
about three thousand souls."
a. Christians prayed more souls to be
saved and God answers their prayers.
(ROMANS 10:1) "Brethren, my heart's desire
and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved."
b. Jerusalem church also have united
prayer in the upper room of 120 church members.
(ACTS 2:13-15) "And when they were come in,
they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John,
and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of
Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all
continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary
the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. 15 And in those days Peter stood up
in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were
about an hundred and twenty,)"
c. Unceasing prayer fuels a passion
for evangelism, opening doors for continuous additions to the body of Christ
and expanding local church outreach.
V. GREAT HOPE OF THE CHRISTIANS DO
NOT STOP
(TITUS 2:13) "Looking for that blessed
hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ;"
a. Challenge to remain faithful in
prayer till Jesus comes back.
(PHILIPPIANS 1:5-6) "For your fellowship in the
gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that
he which"
b. The Jesus Christ is our hope in
glory.
(Colossians 1:27) "To whom God would make known
what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is
Christ in you the hope of glory."
c. Ongoing prayer sustains spiritual
endurance, fixing the believer's gaze firmly on eternity and the ultimate
fulfillment of God's promises.
Conclusion:
a. When a church resolves never to stop
praying at the throne of grace, its spiritual vitality, provision, protection,
victory, and soul-winning efforts are continually sustained by God.
b. Nonstop prayer invites unending
divine blessings, transforming a struggling body of believers into a resilient,
unstoppable force for His glory.
