[HH] [PREACHING LESSON 6:] WHY CHRISTIANS ALWAYS SEEK AND FIND THE PRESENCE OF GOD?

WHY CHRISTIANS ALWAYS SEEK AND FIND THE PRESENCE OF GOD?

Psalms 27:1-4 [1]The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

[2]When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

[3]Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

[4]One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

* INTRODUCTION:

a. King David always seeks the presence of God in His temple.

1. THERE IS HOPE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Romans 15:13 13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

2. THERE IS LOVE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Romans 8:35, 37-39 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 5:11-12 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.

Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Proverbs 3:11-12 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke,

12 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.[a]

3.  THERE IS JOY IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

[5]And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Isaiah 54:17 [17]No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

2 Corinthians 1:4 [4]Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

7.  THERE ARE THE PROVISIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

Philippians 4:19 [19]But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Luke 12:24 [24]Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Psalms 84:1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts.

8.  THERE ARE POSSIBILITIES IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

Philippians 4:13 [13]I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

10.  THERE IS COMPASSION IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

Psalms 116:5 [5]Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

Psalms 103:13-14 [13]Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

[14]For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

Mathew 9:35-36 [35]And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

[36]But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

11. THERE IS MERCY IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

2 Samuel 24:14 [14]And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

Ephesians 4:7 [7]But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ

Ephesians 2:8-9 [8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

[9]Not of works, lest any man should boast.

II Corinthians 12:9-10 [9]And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

[10]Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

* God bless you all always *
