[HH] [PREACHING LESSON 20:] VICTORY IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD WILL NEVER BE ACHIEVED BY ONE PERSON ALONE, BUT BY THE ONE BODY OF CHRIST WORKING TOGETHER WITHIN THE LOCAL CHURCH.

 

VICTORY IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD WILL NEVER BE ACHIEVED BY ONE PERSON ALONE, BUT BY THE ONE BODY OF CHRIST WORKING TOGETHER WITHIN THE LOCAL CHURCH.

INTRODUCTION:

Do not leave the great work of the church to your Pastor and church workers alone. Instead, let the church work together as one Body of Christ.

(1 Corinthians 3:6-7 ) [6]I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

[7]So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

( I Corinthians 12:12-18 )

1.THE LOCAL CHURCH IS ONE BODY OF CHRIST UNITED IN PRAYER FOR THE BATTLE AGAINST OUR SPIRITUAL ENEMY THE DEVIL.

( Ephesians 6:13-18 ) [13]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

[14]Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

[15]And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

[16]Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

[17]And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

[18]Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

2. THE LOCAL CHURCH IS ONE BODY OF CHRIST SHARING GOD-GIVEN TALENTS BY SERVING THE LORD.

( Romans 12:6-11 ) [6]Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

[7]Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

[8]Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

[9]Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

[10]Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

[11]Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

3. THE LOCAL CHURCH IS ONE BODY OF CHRIST COMMITTED TO THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

( Matthew 28:18-20 ) [18]And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

[19]Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

[20]Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

4. THE LOCAL CHURCH IS ONE BODY OF CHRIST WITH PRESENCE AND POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT TO DO GREAT WORK IN THE MINISTRY OF THE LORD.

( Acts 1:8 ) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

5. THE LOCAL CHURCH IS ONE BODY OF CHRIST DETERMINED TO FACE THE CHALLENGE AND FINISH THE GREAT CALLING OF GOD TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.

( Acts 20:24 ) But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
