[GG] [PREACHING LESSON 9:] A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP YOU CAN HAVE AS BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN

A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP YOU CAN HAVE AS BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN

(John 1:12-13) "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"  v.13: "Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

a. The relationship that I am talking about is our personal experience of accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of our life.

(Romans 10:9) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

b. The relationship that gave us the power to become the children of God.

(John 1:12-13) "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"  v.13: "Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

4 Most Important Possible Relationships You Can Have with God

1. Our relationship with God was made possible through the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary.

(Romans 5:19) "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

Sin made us separate from God, but the death of Christ reconciled us.

(Romans 5:8-10) "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners  Christ died for us."  v.9:  "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."  v.10:  "For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."

Christians were made righteous before God through the death and the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Our relationship with God is made possible by the grace of God.

(Ephesians 2:8-9) "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" v.9: "Not of works, lest any man should boast."

We received the salvation of our soul by the grace of God and received it as a gift of God to a sinner like you and me through faith in Christ Jesus.

3. Our relationship with God was made possible through the preaching of the gospel of Christ to us.

(Romans 1:16) "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."

The preaching of the gospel of Christ made it possible for many sinners that heard and responded to get saved.

(Acts 2:39-41) "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." v.40: "And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation."  v.41: "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."

4. Our relationship with God was made possible because we opened our heart and mind in accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior of our life.

(Romans 10:9 ) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

This eternal relationship is possible to all who want their souls to be saved and be assured of everlasting life, as God has promised in John 3:16.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I encourage you, our dear friends, to have this very important relationship with God. You can possibly have it right now if you will just humble yourself and ask for God's forgiveness and let Jesus Christ rule your life and be your personal Lord and Savior.

* God bless you all always. *
