THE QUALIFIED SOULWINNER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
(II Timothy 2:2) " And
the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses , the same commit
thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
a.
Paul encourages the young Timothy to find and train more qualified soulwinners
of the Lord Jesus Christ, to seek faithful Christians for this great task of
winning lost people.
b. Now
let us search from the Word of God on how to be effective soul winners of the
Lord.

Important Qualifications We Need to Find in an Effective Soulwinner.
1.
They must be saved and baptized.
(II Timothy 1:9) "Who
hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works,
but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus,
before the world began."
It is
the very first qualification. God did not call the wise men, the mighty, and the
noble of this world; they are blind and cannot understand the spiritual things
of God.
(1 Corinthians 2:14 ) But the
natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually
discerned.
(1 Corinthians 1:26 ) For ye see
your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many
mighty, not many noble, are called:
2. They must love the Lord.
(John 14:15) "If
you love me, keep my commandments."
The
effective soulwinners are those who truly love Christ by their total obedience
to Him. Amen and amen!!!
3.
They must love the lost people.
(Psalms 126:5-6) "They
that sow in tears shall reap in joy." The tear that we invest for winning
lost people will effectively manifest our love to them.
4.
They must know the Bible.
(II Timothy 2:15) "Study to shew thyself
approve unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, righthly dividing
the word of truth."
An effective soulwinner can be able to memorize John 3:16 and all the verses in the Roman Road
lesson of the simple plan for salvation.
5.
They must have a good testimony.
(Mathew 5:16) "Let
your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify
your Father which is in heaven."
It is
a very important qualification for an effective soulwinner; even Paul shared
his good testimony in Thessalonians territory during his time: “…(because our testimony among you
was believed) in that day.”
( II Thessalonians 1:10 ) [10]When he
shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that
believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
6.
They must pray for souls to be saved.
(Romans10:1) "Brethren
my heart's desire and prayer to God for Isreal is, that they might be
saved."
Prayerful
soulwinners are very effective in winning lost people.
(Acts 1:13-15) [13]And
when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both
Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and
Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of
James.
[14]These all continued with one accord in prayer
and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his
brethren.
[15]And in those days Peter stood up in the midst
of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred
and twenty,)
*The Jerusalem church was a prayerful, soul-winning church, and the great result was 3,000 souls
got saved and baptized. Amen and amen!!!
(Acts 2:41) Then they
that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added
unto them about three thousand souls.
7.
They must be filled by the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 1:8.) "But
ye shall receive power after that the Holy Gost is come upon you, and ye shall
be my witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea ,and in Samaria and
unto the uttermost part of the earth."
The
effective soulwinners of the Lord are always filled by the Holy Spirit. We need
the leading and power of the Holy Spirit; He will give you the right attitude
and wisdom and courage to share the gospel of Christ with others.
