[EE] [PREACHING LESSON 2:] SOME GREAT CLEAR MARKS OF A COMMITTED AND SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF CHRIST TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

 SOME GREAT CLEAR MARKS OF A COMMITTED AND SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF CHRIST TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

( Acts 11:19-26 ) [19]Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

[20]And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

[21]And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

[22]Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

[23]Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

[24]For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

[25]Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

[26]And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

* INTRODUCTION:

Some good model of committed and surrendered man of God in the Bible.

1. Moses is a surrendered and faithful man of before God.

( Hebrews 3:3-5 ) [3]For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

[4]For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

[5]And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

2. Noah was found a surrendered God fearing and obedient man of God.

( Hebrews 11:7 ) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

3. Abraham is also a surrendered and obedient servant of God the bible said.

( Hebrews 11:8 ) By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

4. The Bible gave us the record of so many surrendered men and women of God that gave life for the sake obeying God in fulfilling the mission work gave to them even it cause for them to suffer and lost their life for God the glory.

( Hebrews 11:32-40 ) [8]By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

[32]And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

[33]Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

[34]Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

[35]Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

[36]And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

[37]They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

[38](Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

[39]And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

* SOME GREAT AND CLEAR MARKS OF DEDICATED AND SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. *

1.  DENYING OF SELF AND SERVE THE LORD WITH HUMBLENESS AND WITH MANY TEARS IS A CLEAR MARK OF A SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF CHRIST JUST TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

(Acts 20:19) Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

a. Paul who was committed and surrendered to fulfill the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. Humbled himself and serve the Lord with humility of mind and with many tears.

* Paul as our good example of self-denial just for the sakes to be effective in winning more lost people in his time.

* He made himself servant unto all.

( I Corinthians 9:19 ) For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

* He made himself acceptable and fit to all level of people that he wants to share the gospel of Christ.

( I Corinthians 9: 20-22 ) [20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

[21]To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

b. Tears in committed to fulfill the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ assured harvest of many precious souls.

(Psalms 126:5-6) [5]They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

[6]He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

c. Tears of the soulwinners touch the heart of God and open the heart of lost sinners.

(Acts 16:14) And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira,ended  worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

c. I Believed Paul spend more tears for the salvation of the prisoners and also the Warden of the prison house.

( Acts 16:25-33 ) [25]And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

[26]And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

[27]And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

[28]But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

[29]Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

[30]And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

[31]And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

[32]And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

[33]And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

[34]And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

2.  SERVING WITH DEDICATION TO SHARE THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST WITH SINCERETY IS A CLEAR MARK OF A SURRENDERED MISSIONARY TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

(Acts 20:20-22) [20]And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,

[21]Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

* Dedication: dedicated or set apart for the service or worship of a deity

b. The sincerity of the Warden in the prison leads for the salvation of his whole family.

(Acts 16:30-33) [30]And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

[31]And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

[32]And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

[33]And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

e. Jerusalem Church was dedicated and very courageous to share the gospel of Christ even they were warned to be imprison again and again.

( Acts 5:17-20 ) [17]Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

[18]And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

[19]But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

[20]Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

* ( Acts 5:26-29 ) [26]Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

[27]And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

[28]Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

[29]Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

[27]And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

[28]Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

[29]Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

[30]And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

[31]And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

[32]The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

[33]In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

[34]And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

[35]Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

* Dedication is a good mark of a surrendered Missionary of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

3. MAKING FIRM DECISION FOR FACING HIS PERSECUTION WITH COURAGE ISPITES THERE IS WAS A THREATH FOR HIS LIFE IS A CLEAR MARK OF A SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF CHRIST.

[23]Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

[24]But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

[10]Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

c. God is glorified in the sacrifices of the Christian are experiencing.

(I Peter 4:13-16) [13]But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

[14]If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

[15]But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

[16]Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

* Jerusalem Church are ready and very willing to face the consequences of obeying God in fulfilling the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.

( Acts 5:26-29 ) [26]Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

* Firm decision to obey God to fulfill the great commission of the Lord Jesus is a good mark of a surrendered Missionary of Christ.

4. SHOWING DETERMINATION TO FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION WITH SINCERITY IS A GOOD MARK OF A SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF CHRIST.

*Determination -: the act of deciding definitely and firmly

also : the result of such an act of decision

[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

[21]To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

c. Paul assured to himself to recieved the crown of rejoicing for being committed to fulfill the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.

(I Thessalonians 2:19-20) [19]For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

[20]For ye are our glory and joy.

* Christians are all spiritual runners in the sight of God and we are determined to continue running until we reach the finish line of our spiritual race

( I Corinthians 9:24-27 ) [24]Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

[25]And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

[26]I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

[27]But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

( Hebrews 12:1-2 ) [1]Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

[2]Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

* To have a determination in fulfilling the great commission of Christ is a good mark of a surrendered Missionary of Jesus Christ.  Amen!!!

5. GIVING DOUBLE TIME AND EFFORT TO FULLFIL THE GREAT IS A GOOD MARK OF SURRENDERED MISSIONARY OF CHRIST.

* The Jesus Christ is our prime model for this.

* ( John 9:4-5) [4]I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

[5]As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

( John 15:16) Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

[14]They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;

[15]To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

c. God design His Church to be very fruitful.

( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

[7]And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

d. Antioch Church also follow the steps of Jerusalem Church to be faithful in the ministry of the Lord in fulfilling the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ. Big Amen and Amen.

e. Paul also is a good example of giving double time to reach and win more precious souls for Christ as good mark of a surrendered Missionary Christ.

( I Corinthians 9:19-22 ) [19]For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

[21]To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

* God bless you all always *
