SAVE TO SERVE
( 2 Timothy 1:9 ) Who hath
saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but
according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus
before the world began,
*
INTRODUCTION:
* God,
who saved us and gives everlasting life, is the one who made a good plan for His
dear children. After you got saved, He called you to a holy calling according to His
purpose for all saved people of God.
Amen and amen!!!
1.
EVERY SAVED INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIAN IS WITH A HOLY CALLING FROM GOD.
( 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 ) [26]For ye
see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not
many mighty, not many noble, are called:
[27]But God hath chosen the foolish things of the
world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty;
[28]And base things of the world, and things which
are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to
nought things that are:
[29]That no flesh should glory in his presence.
2.
EVERY INDIVIDUAL SAVED AND BAPTIZED CHRISTIAN BELONGS TO ONE BODY OF CHRIST AND IS READY TO SERVE GOD INSIDE THE LOCAL CHURCH.
( I Corinthians 12:12-18 ) [12]For as
the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body,
being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
[13]For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one
body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been
all made to drink into one Spirit.
[14]For the body is not one member, but many.
[15]If the foot shall say, Because I am not the
hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
[16]And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the
eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
[17]If the whole body were an eye, where were the
hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
[18]But now hath God set the members every one of
them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
3.
EVERY INDIVIDUAL SAVED HAS A GREAT PRIVILEGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MINISTRY OF
THE CHURCH ACCORDING TO THE TALENT GOD HATH GIVEN TO THEM.
( Romans 12:6-11 ) [6]Having
then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether
prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
[7]Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or
he that teacheth, on teaching;
[8]Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that
giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that
sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
[9]Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that
which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
[10]Be kindly affectioned one to another with
brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
[11]Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit;
serving the Lord;
4.
EVERY INDIVIDUAL SAVED PERSON IS NOW A FAITHFUL SUPPORTER OF GOD'S GREAT WORK.
( Acts 20:35 ) I have
shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and
to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to
give than to receive.
* The Macedonia Church is a good model in faithfulness by supporting the work of the
Lord.
( II Corinthians 8:1-5 ) [1]Moreover,
brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of
Macedonia;
[2]How that in a great trial of affliction the
abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their
liberality.
[3]For to their power, I bear record, yea, and
beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
[4]Praying us with much intreaty that we would
receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the
saints.
[5]And this they did, not as we hoped, but first
gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
5.
EVERY INDIVIDUAL SAVED PERSON IS CALLED TO BE AN EVANGELIST OF THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST.
( 2 Timothy 4:1-5 ) [1]I charge
thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick
and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
[2]Preach the word; be instant in season, out of
season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
[3]For the time will come when they will not
endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves
teachers, having itching ears;
[4]And they shall turn away their ears from the
truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
[5]But watch thou in all things, endure
afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
* Paul
is our good example of faithfulness in winning lost people.
( I Corinthians 9:19-22 ) [19]For
though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I
might gain the more.
[20]And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I
might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I
might gain them that are under the law;
[21]To them that are without law, as without law,
(being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain
them that are without law.
[22]To the weak became I as weak, that I might
gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save
some.
*
Jerusalem Church is a good model church in fulfilling the great commission of
the Lord Jesus Christ with courage and determination.
( Acts 5:26-29 ) [26]Then
went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they
feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.
[27]And when they had brought them, they set them
before the council: and the high priest asked them,
[28]Saying, Did not we straitly command you that
ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with
your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
[29]Then Peter and the other apostles answered and
said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
*
Jerusalem Church grows dynamically by winning lost people at any cost and any
place and at any time.
( Acts 6:4-7 ) [4]But we
will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
[5]And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and
they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and
Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of
Antioch:
[6]Whom they set before the apostles: and when
they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
[7]And the word of God increased; and the number
of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the
priests were obedient to the faith.
* God
bless you all always. *
