THE BLESSED LIFE OF THE CHRISTIAN IS NOT AN ACCIDENT BUT A CHOICE OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIAN.
( Psalms 1:1-3 ) [1]Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the
way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
[2]But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and
in his law doth he meditate day and night.
[3]And he shall be like a tree planted by the
rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also
shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
5
GREAT TRUTHS TO KNOW IN THIS LESSON.
1.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO DELIGHT IN THE LAW OF THE LORD.
( Psalms 1: 2 ) But his
delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and
night.
*
Joshua is our model in giving value of reading and meditating the Word of God
day and night.
( Joshua 1:8 ) This book
of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein
day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written
therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have
good success.
2.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO FEAR GOD IN THEIR LIFE.
( Psalms 128:1-6 ) [1] Blessed
is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
[2]For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:
happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
[3]Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the
sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
[4]Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that
feareth the LORD.
[5]The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou
shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
[6]Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children,
and peace upon Israel.
3.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO WALK A HOLY LIFE.
(Psalms 119:1-8) [1] Blessed
are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
[2]Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and
that seek him with the whole heart.
[3]They also do no iniquity: they walk in his
ways.
[4]Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts
diligently.
[5]O that my ways were directed to keep thy
statutes!
[6]Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have
respect unto all thy commandments.
[7]I will praise thee with uprightness of heart,
when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
[8]I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not
utterly.
4.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO BE PERSECUTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS' SAKE
( Matthew 5:10-14) [10]Blessed
are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.
[11]Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and
persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake.
[12]Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is
your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before
you.
[13]Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt
have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for
nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
[14]Ye are the light of the world. A city that is
set on an hill cannot be hid.
5.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO HAVE A PURE HEART.
( Matthew 5:8 ) Blessed are
the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
6.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO BE PEACE MAKERS INSTEAD OF TROUBLE MAKERS.
(Matthew 5:9) Blessed are
the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
7.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO BE MERCIFUL TO OTHERS.
( Matthew 5:7 ) Blessed are
the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8.
BECAUSE THEY CHOOSE TO BE MEEK AND HUMBLE BEFORE GOD AND MAN.
(Matthew 5:5) Blessed are
the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
(1 Peter 5:6) Humble
yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due
time:
* God
bless you all always *
